We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Purchase Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient execution of purchasing and administrative tasks, maintaining accurate purchasing records and pricing, and preparing comprehensive reports to support decision-making. This position requires proactive engagement in scheduling store visits, conducting competitor surveys, coordinating with departments and suppliers for project-related purchases, and managing claims for defective or missing items.

The Purchase Officer will also be responsible for sourcing and negotiating the best purchasing packages, managing inventory levels, and maintaining smooth coordination with suppliers to meet organizational needs.

Ensure quality execution of all purchasing duties and administrative tasks.
Maintain updated purchasing records, data, and pricing in the system.
Prepare reports and summarize key data, including sales reports and book value.
Schedule store visits and conduct competitor surveys.
Coordinate with user departments and suppliers for project-related purchases.
Handle and monitor claims for defective or missing items with vendors.
Provide quotations for tenders and support relevant departments.
Ensure on-time delivery through effective supplier coordination.
Prepare and process purchase orders and documents per company policies.
Monitor and coordinate supplier deliveries to meet deadlines.
Source, select, and negotiate optimal purchase packages (quality, price, terms, delivery, and service).
Manage inventory levels of materials or products.
Identify and source new suppliers, parts, or subcontractors as needed.

The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field with Certification in advanced Excel is a plus and at least 2-3 years of experience in a relevant field. S/he should have excellent negotiation skills, time management skills, and the ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

Aga Khan Education Service, Pakistan (AKES,P) is a network of educational institutions that combines the operation of 159 schools and 5 hostels with the management of programmes to enhance the quality of teachers, academic resources and learning environments in Pakistan through community partnerships and long-term interventions. It is one of the largest third-sector networks of educational institutions in Pakistan and part of an international network of over 200 schools spread in 8 countries of the world under the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). Reaching out to the remotest areas of the country, AKES,P has been providing quality education in the region for the past 110 years. It is a direct provider of education for nearly 36,000 students from pre-primary to higher secondary levels and facilitates access to higher education through the provision of scholarships, hostels and other educational support services.With more than 2,000 employees, of whom over 1,500 areteachers, AKES,P is also supported by over 2,000 volunteers. In Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral, the first AKES,P schools were setup in the 1940s; since then they have contributed significantly toincreasing the literacy rates and social development in theremote, mountainous, harsh and ecologically fragile regions ofNorthern Pakistan. AKES,P currently operates 151 schools inGilgit-Baltistan and Chitral, providing education to over 27,000students, of which 54% are girls. Through these efforts, AKES,Pis continuing to play a critical role in women’s development inthe region. In the Southern Region, AKES,P operates four schools in Karachi,three in Hyderabad and rural Sindh and one in Hafizabad,Punjab, with over 8,900 students. All AKES,P schools follow theNational Curriculum but place special emphasis on the teachingof English, Mathematics, Science and the increasing use ofInformation and Communication Technologies (ICT).
