IRCCCE Lessons Learnt/Review Workshop
1. Background
Introduction to the Project
The Improved Resilience of Communities to Climate Change and Environmental Degradation (IRCCCE) project, funded by the UBS Optimus Foundation and implemented by the Aga Khan Foundation Pakistan (AKF-P) in collaboration with local partners, aims to strengthen the climate resilience of at-risk communities in selected districts of Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral.
The project adopts a multi-sectoral, gender-responsive approach, focusing on enhancing adaptive capacities through climate-smart agriculture, clean energy solutions, natural resource conservation, green infrastructure development, and awareness-raising around climate risks. Special emphasis is placed on engaging women and youth in climate resilience programming to ensure inclusive and sustainable outcomes.
IRCCCE's approach integrates community-based planning, nature-based solutions, and institutional strengthening, contributing to the national and subnational climate change priorities, and aligning with AKDN’s broader goals of poverty alleviation and environmental sustainability.
