We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced *Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Engineer* to join our team. The HSE Engineer will play a critical role in fostering a safe and healthy workplace by implementing HSE policies, conducting comprehensive risk assessments, and developing measures for environmental protection.
Key Responsibilities
1. Developing Safety Plans and Policies
• 1.1 Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies in alignment with local and international regulations.
• 1.2 Design and oversee safety management systems (SMS) and emergency response plans.
2. Conducting Risk Assessments
• 2.1 Perform routine risk assessments to identify potential workplace hazards.
• 2.2 Analyze risks and recommend effective mitigation strategies.
3. Training and Awareness Programs
• 3.1 Conduct training sessions on HSE policies, emergency protocols, and safe operational practices.
• 3.2 Promote health, safety, and environmental awareness among employees.
4. Incident Investigation and Reporting
• 4.1 Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes.
• 4.2 Compile comprehensive reports and suggest corrective and preventive actions.
5. Compliance and Auditing
• 5.1 Ensure adherence to all relevant HSE laws, standards, and industry regulations.
• 5.2 Perform routine audits to ensure operational and facility compliance.
6. Environmental Protection
• 6.1 Develop and implement strategies to minimize environmental impact.
• 6.2 Monitor activities related to waste management, pollution control, and resource conservation.
7. Monitoring and Inspection
• 7.1 Inspect equipment, machinery, and operational processes to ensure safety compliance.
• 7.2 Utilize appropriate monitoring tools to measure noise levels, emissions, and other environmental factors.
8. Emergency Preparedness
• 8.1 Develop and execute emergency response procedures and evacuation plans.
• 8.2 Organize emergency drills and ensure personnel readiness.
9. Regulatory Reporting
• 9.1 Prepare and submit mandatory HSE performance reports to regulatory authorities.
• 9.2 Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, inspections, and compliance records.
10. Continuous Improvement
• 10.1 Initiate and support projects aimed at improving HSE performance.
• 10.2 Stay informed about new regulations, industry trends, and best practices.
11. Collaboration and Communication
• 11.1 Collaborate with operations, engineering, and HR teams to integrate HSE into all company activities.
• 11.2 Effectively communicate HSE developments and concerns to relevant stakeholders.
12. Incident and Hazard Tracking
• 12.1 Implement and manage systems for tracking incidents, hazards, and corrective actions.
• 12.2 Analyze incident data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
13. PPE Management
• 13.1 Ensure the availability and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• 13.2 Evaluate PPE effectiveness and provide recommendations for enhancement.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA are preferred.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in HSE management within a construction or industrial environment.
Strong expertise in risk assessment and mitigation practices.
