Freelance Field Merchandiser – Merchant Onboarding

We are looking for energetic, field-savvy professionals with strong connections in local retail markets. As a Freelance Field Merchandiser Merchant Onboarding, you will play a critical role in expanding the Dukan Apps merchant network. Your day-to-day work will involve visiting retail stores, onboarding merchants, and ensuring they are successfully activated on the app.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct field visits to retail shops, grocery stores, and wholesalers to onboard them on the Dukan app.
- Educate merchants about the apps benefits (e.g., digital payments, order tracking, Raast QR, etc.) and assist them with signup and setup.
- Build trust and relationships with merchants for smoother onboarding and long-term engagement.
- Reactivate inactive merchants and ensure a growing base of active users on the app.
- Collaborate with team leads to report onboarding progress and receive training/support.
- Support in identifying and referring new agents and Business Associates (BAs) in the market when needed.
- Achieve onboarding and activation targets with a focus on quality engagement, not just quantity.
  
  Who You Are:
  - Experience in merchandising, retail sales, or distribution (preferred: FMCG, telecom, fintech).
  - Strong local market knowledge and good relationships with retail shop owners.
  - Comfortable using smartphones, apps, and basic reporting tools (WhatsApp, Excel/Google Forms).
  - A self-starter with excellent communication and persuasion skills.
  - Someone who enjoys on-the-ground work and doesnt want to sit behind a desk all day.

To realize the potential of this emerging new economy, Dukan.pk has launched a custom built app to help 5 million MSMEs (micro, small and medium enterprises) in Pakistan to digitize their business using a simple smartphone. The Dukan app enables micro and small sellers with a full-stack e-commerce platform that not only enables online selling, but also online payments, locally integrated delivery options, online marketing and access to sales and stock performance insights through the app. Managing khata, ordering stock from wholesalers and a dedicated POS for retail stores are some of the key features of the Dukan app, designed to enable and digitize the $160 Billion distribution and retail market in Pakistan. Retailers are also able to access credit, by applying for a loan through the Dukan app, for purchasing stock without affecting their cash flows.
