The Purchase Manager will oversee the procurement of raw materials, equipment, and supplies for the bakery, ensuring high-quality products at competitive prices. This role requires maintaining strong relationships with vendors, negotiating favorable terms, and ensuring timely delivery of items to support smooth operations in the bakery. The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement, supply chain management, and an understanding of the bakery industry in Pakistan.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Procurement Management:

    • Identify and source raw materials (e.g., flour, sugar, butter, eggs, etc.) and packaging materials.
    • Evaluate supplier options, compare prices, and select the most suitable suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability.
    • Negotiate contracts and payment terms with vendors.
  2. Inventory Control:

    • Monitor stock levels and ensure the availability of essential supplies without overstocking.
    • Implement effective inventory management practices to minimize wastage and control costs.
    • Work closely with the production team to forecast material needs based on sales trends.
  3. Supplier Relationship Management:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers.
    • Ensure suppliers adhere to agreed quality standards and delivery timelines.
    • Conduct regular evaluations of suppliers to ensure consistency in quality and service.
  4. Budget Management:

    • Develop and manage the purchasing budget in collaboration with the finance team.
    • Track expenses and optimize procurement costs without compromising quality.
  5. Quality Assurance:

    • Ensure all purchased items meet the quality standards and specifications of the bakery.
    • Conduct regular inspections of raw materials and supplies received from vendors.
  6. Compliance and Documentation:

    • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and relevant regulations in Pakistan.
    • Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier contracts, and inventory data.
    • Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities, costs, and supplier performance.
  7. Market Analysis:

    • Stay updated with market trends, including price fluctuations and availability of raw materials.
    • Identify alternative suppliers or products in case of supply chain disruptions.
