The General Manager - Organizational Planning and Management (GM-OPM) will play a crucial role as a strategic partner to the CEO of TCF, driving organizational efficiency and operational excellence. This senior leadership position demands a seasoned professional with strong expertise in operations and project management who can navigate a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. The GM-OPM will serve as a key integrator, managing information flow, overseeing critical initiatives, and ensuring alignment across all departments to support the organization’s goals.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Annual Planning: Lead the creation and ongoing monitoring of the organization’s long-term strategic plans, ensuring consistent progress toward key milestones. Work closely with the Finance team to align financial planning with strategic objectives during the annual planning cycle.
Operations and Performance Management: Oversee the execution of the CEO’s priorities on a daily basis, ensuring that initiatives are implemented effectively and efficiently. Identify and resolve bottlenecks in processes, workflows, or communication that hinder organizational performance. Track progress on programs, projects, and key performance indicators, proactively raising concerns and ensuring accountability for results.
Stakeholder Management and Operating Rhythm: Assist the CEO in managing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders while maintaining organizational oversight through a structured operating rhythm. Provide guidance and oversight for the design and delivery of organization-wide forums, including those that do not require CEO involvement. Organize and coordinate senior leadership meetings, managing agenda setting, documentation, and follow-up to maintain alignment and drive outcomes.
Internal and External Communications: Act as the central communication hub between the CEO, senior leadership, and the broader organization to ensure messaging is clear, consistent, and timely. Manage the CEO’s email and communications to facilitate prompt responses and informed decision-making. Support the CEO’s external engagements by curating opportunities, preparing communication materials, and maintaining relationships with external partners. Facilitate public communication efforts through social media content, blogs, and opinion pieces.
Decision Support and Project Management: Prepare and assist teams in developing briefing documents that provide context, rationale, and data to support executive decision-making. Lead or coordinate critical cross-functional projects that lack clear ownership, ensuring successful delivery and alignment with organizational priorities.
Required Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience in business management, project management, or consulting, preferably within large and structured organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage complex organizational relationships.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
