Human Development Foundation (HDF) was founded in 1997 by Pakistani diaspora in North America as a gift to homeland on its 50th anniversary, with a passion to pay back to the communities they belong to. Over past 25 year, HDF has positively impacted lives of 3.4 million fellow countrymen through direct service delivery in the areas of Education & literacy, Primary Healthcare, Livelihood & Food Security, Sustainable Environment and Disaster Response with its physical footprint in 88 Tehsils of 53 Districts from AJK till Tharparkar.

Position Description

The Education Officer is responsible for managing schools and providing professional development and training to the Human Development Foundation (HDF) school teachers to enhance their instructional practices and improve student outcomes. The Education Officer will work closely with teachers, school administrators, and other stakeholders to identify professional development needs, design training programs, deliver workshops and coaching sessions, and evaluate the effectiveness of the training initiatives in all the schools; formal, nonformal, and adapted schools. The goal is to support the continuous growth and development of teachers to create a positive and effective learning environment in the HDF schools and Non-formal Centers.

Responsibilities:

1. Overseeing NFE Schools

  • Responsible for overseeing and managing the operations of schools in the Karachi region.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including teachers, community leaders, and local authorities, to ensure the effective implementation of educational programs and initiatives.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for schools, ensuring compliance with educational standards, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Provide guidance and support to teachers and staff, conduct regular evaluations and assessments, and coordinate training programs to enhance the professional development of educators in schools.

2. Conduct Training Needs Assessment (TNA):

  • Collaborate with school administrators and educators to identify training needs and areas for improvement in all the schools including formal, nonformal, and govt. adapted schools
  • Conduct surveys, classroom observations, and interviews to assess the professional development needs of teachers.
  • Analyze data and identify key areas for training focus.

3.Design and Develop Training Programs:

  • Develop comprehensive training programs and materials based on identified needs and best practices in education.
  • Design workshops, seminars, and other training sessions to address specific instructional strategies, classroom management techniques, assessment methods, and other relevant topics.
  • Create engaging and interactive training materials, including presentations, handouts, and multimedia resources.

4. Deliver Training Sessions:

  •  Facilitate training sessions for groups of teachers, providing engaging and effective instruction.
  •  Utilize a variety of instructional techniques, including presentations, demonstrations, group activities, and discussions.
  • Adapt training methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs of participants.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative learning environment during training sessions.

5. Provide Individual Coaching and Support:

  • Conduct one-on-one coaching sessions with teachers to provide personalized support and guidance.
  • Observe teachers in the classroom and provide constructive feedback on instructional practices.
  • Assist teachers in implementing new strategies and techniques learned during training sessions.
  • Offer ongoing support and mentoring to help teachers overcome challenges and improve their teaching skills.

6. Evaluate Effectiveness:

  • Assess the impact and effectiveness of the training programs through participant feedback, surveys, and other evaluation methods.
  • Collect and analyze data to measure improvements in teacher performance and student outcomes.
  • Modify training programs as needed based on evaluation results and feedback from participants and stakeholders.

7. Assisting Regional Program Manager

  • Assist in the implementation of education programs in the regions, this includes but is not limited to progress reports, linkage development, disbursement, and reports of the scholarship program
  • Preparation of quarterly reports of NFE Centers
  • Compilation of MPRs of NFE Centers
  • Collection of information & writing success stories.

8.      Reporting

  • The Officer will report to tManager Education, or his nominated authority in the future for technical aspects of the role and RPM for administrative aspects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or a related field.·       
  • Teaching and School Management experience in a classroom setting  
  • Strong knowledge of instructional strategies, curriculum development, and assessment techniques.·       
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.·       
  • Ability to effectively communicate and connect with teachers and other stakeholders.·       
  • Experience in designing and delivering professional development programs.·       
  • Familiarity with educational technology tools and resources.·       
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.·       
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to collect and analyze data.·       
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
