As an Accountant at IB Polymers, you play a vital role in maintaining the financial integrity and efficiency of our operations. This position involves ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with accounting standards while preparing and analyzing essential financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports. With a strong command of bookkeeping and reconciliation, you will manage both accounts payable and receivable, verifying invoices and processing payments in a timely manner. Although this role does not involve managing a team, collaboration with various departments is crucial to facilitate smooth financial operations and ensure effective communication of financial insights across the organization. Additionally, your responsibility includes staying updated with the changes in tax laws and assisting in budgeting and financial forecasting processes to aid in strategic decision-making. You will utilize accounting software, specifically QuickBooks, to maintain digital records and streamline various accounting processes.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial records, ensuring adherence to all applicable accounting standards and regulations.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports to support management in decision-making.
Manage accounts payable and receivable, overseeing invoice verification and ensuring timely payments to vendors.
Reconcile bank statements, promptly identifying and managing discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Prepare and submit tax returns, including VAT, GST, and other applicable taxes, ensuring compliance with changing tax laws and regulations.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing reliable data and analysis to support financial planning and resource allocation.
Monitor financial performance by reporting variances and assisting management in identifying corrective measures.
Oversee payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely disbursement of employee salaries, and maintain meticulous employee financial records.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate periodic audits, ensuring compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
Utilize QuickBooks and other accounting software to maintain digital records efficiently and streamline accounting processes.
Provide support to management by preparing financial analysis, reports, and insights to inform strategic decisions.
