Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced professional to design, plan, and manage national energy efficiency and conservation initiatives within the power and energy sectors. This role involves leading projects that align with strategic objectives and global best practices, while fostering collaboration among stakeholders to promote innovative energy-saving solutions. The successful candidate will also oversee certification schemes, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive public awareness campaigns to support national energy conservation goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, planning, and execution of nationwide energy efficiency and conservation projects, focusing on power and energy sectors.
- Develop comprehensive project proposals, feasibility studies, and implementation plans that align with strategic priorities and international standards.
- Collaborate with diverse stakeholders to identify energy-saving opportunities and integrate cutting-edge technologies into conservation efforts.
- Provide strategic oversight for the National Certification Scheme for Energy Auditors and Managers, ensuring curriculum, examinations, and certifications meet global benchmarks.
- Coordinate with academic institutions, professional bodies, and training providers to maintain high-quality training materials and resources.
- Supervise advanced energy audits aimed at detecting inefficiencies and recommending data-driven Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs).
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the impact of ECMs, using findings to inform policy recommendations for scaling and replication.
- Ensure the effective implementation and enforcement of relevant rules, regulations, policies, and standards related to power and energy conservation.
- Develop compliance tools such as checklists, audit protocols, and reporting frameworks to support stakeholder adherence to energy conservation mandates.
- Design and manage reporting frameworks for designated consumers to guarantee accurate, timely, and actionable data submissions aligned with national conservation targets.
- Prepare and review technical proposals for media campaigns, public awareness initiatives, and stakeholder outreach programs focused on energy efficiency.
- Collaborate with communication teams to deliver campaigns that promote behavioral and operational changes supporting energy conservation.
- Represent the organization in technical negotiations, conferences, working groups, and forums related to energy efficiency and conservation.
- Advocate for strategic priorities and build partnerships with international organizations, donors, and technology providers to enhance program impact.
- Oversee the technical evaluation and approval of applications under Energy Label Regulations, ensuring compliance with established standards and guidelines.
- Work closely with market regulators and manufacturers to encourage the adoption of energy-efficient products.
- Facilitate the establishment and operation of Energy Efficiency & Conservation Cells within Distribution Companies, ensuring alignment with national objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of these cells, providing technical support and capacity-building resources as needed.
- Contribute technical expertise to the development, revision, and implementation of energy efficiency policies focused on measurable outcomes and sustainability.
- Develop and track KPIs for power and energy programs to measure progress toward strategic goals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the organization’s mission and strategic objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in managing large-scale energy efficiency and conservation projects, particularly within the power and energy sectors.
- Strong knowledge of energy auditing, conservation measures, and related regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement certification schemes and training programs.
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, academic institutions, and industry partners.
- Excellent project management, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to represent the organization effectively in technical forums and negotiations.
- Familiarity with energy labeling regulations and market-based energy efficiency initiatives.
