Job Summary
We are seeking a diligent and safety-focused professional to join our team as a Cold Store Safety Officer. This role is pivotal in ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols within the cold store environment, with a primary focus on monitoring compliance, conducting inspections, and promoting a culture of safety among all personnel. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing safety practices related to permit to work systems, fire safety equipment, material handling machinery, and vehicle yard operations, thereby minimizing risks and maintaining a secure workplace.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and enforce compliance with permit to work systems, safety policies, and procedures specifically within the cold store area to ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular inspections of safety-critical equipment, particularly those related to fire safety, to verify operational readiness and adherence to safety standards.
- Inspect Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including reach trucks, hand pallet trolleys, and forklifts, ensuring they are maintained and operated safely.
- Perform comprehensive area audits across assigned zones within the cold store, identifying and reporting unsafe acts, hazardous conditions, and near-miss incidents promptly.
- Maintain and update detailed safety records, including logs of incidents, near misses, and identified hazards, ensuring accurate documentation for ongoing safety management.
- Prepare and present safety dashboards, summaries, and reports as required by management to communicate safety performance and trends effectively.
- Support the cold store team and drivers by assisting in the delivery of safety awareness sessions and training programs to enhance overall safety knowledge and compliance.
- Manage and implement safety procedures within the cold store vehicle yard, ensuring all activities comply with established safety standards.
- Actively monitor and report any vehicle-related unsafe acts and conditions to prevent accidents and promote a safe operational environment.

Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in safety monitoring and compliance within industrial or cold storage environments.
- Strong knowledge of permit to work systems, fire safety protocols, and material handling equipment safety standards.
- Ability to conduct thorough safety inspections and audits with keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in maintaining safety records and preparing detailed reports and dashboards.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively deliver safety training and awareness sessions.
- Capability to identify hazards, assess risks, and recommend corrective actions promptly.
- Familiarity with vehicle yard safety management and related procedures.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
