Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CAD Supervisor to lead the daily operations of our CAD department, specializing in pattern design, grading, and marker making. The ideal candidate will ensure that all patterns are technically accurate, production-friendly, and optimized for efficiency. This role requires close collaboration with multiple departments, including sampling, merchandising, production, and R&D, to support seamless product development and manufacturing processes. Additionally, the CAD Supervisor will be responsible for mentoring junior team members and maintaining comprehensive pattern libraries and technical data.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily activities of the CAD department, ensuring smooth workflow in pattern design, grading, and marker making.
- Verify that all patterns meet technical standards, are production-ready, and maintain high accuracy to minimize errors during manufacturing.
- Work closely with sampling, merchandising, and production teams to coordinate timelines, resolve issues, and align on product specifications.
- Optimize marker efficiency by strategically planning marker layouts to reduce fabric waste and improve material yield, contributing to cost savings.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to junior CAD designers and pattern masters, fostering skill development and team growth.
- Collaborate with research and development teams during new product development and sampling phases to ensure patterns meet design intent and production feasibility.
- Maintain and regularly update pattern libraries and technical documentation to ensure data accuracy and accessibility for all relevant stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in supervising CAD operations within the apparel or textile industry, with a strong focus on pattern design, grading, and marker making.
- In-depth knowledge of CAD software and tools used for pattern making and marker planning.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fabric properties, and production processes to ensure patterns are practical and efficient.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills to effectively liaise with cross-functional teams including sampling, merchandising, production, and R&D.
- Demonstrated ability to optimize marker efficiency and reduce fabric wastage through strategic planning and technical expertise.
- Experience in training and mentoring junior staff, with a commitment to developing team capabilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to maintain accurate pattern libraries and technical data.
