Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations and Maintenance Manager to oversee the efficient functioning of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, civil, and utility systems within our facility. This role involves planning, monitoring, and controlling operational and maintenance activities, managing projects and resources, and leading a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, proven leadership abilities, and expertise in maintenance methodologies and project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, monitor, and control all aspects of operations, maintenance, and project functions, including resource allocation and staff management.
- Operate and maintain a wide range of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, civil, and utility systems such as compressors, cooling towers, pumps, gears, conveyors, sifters, dryers, elevators, mills, centrifuges, fans, motors, LT/HT switchgears, generators, and 132 KV grid stations.
- Implement and apply advanced maintenance methodologies including Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Condition Based Maintenance (CBM), and Time Bound Maintenance to enhance asset reliability and reduce downtime.
- Design, modify, and optimize mechanical and electrical systems to meet evolving process requirements and improve operational efficiency.
- Manage capital expenditure (Capex) projects, ensuring strict adherence to project timelines, budgets, and cash flow controls.
- Oversee inventory management by evaluating critical store items, selecting materials through Quality Evaluation Matrices (QEMs), and maintaining a critical machine parts list to ensure timely availability of spares.
- Manage contractors effectively by developing contracts for minor jobs, conducting bid evaluations, assessing QEMs, and supervising billing processes.
- Lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary team comprising mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, utilities, and civil departments, fostering collaboration and high performance.
- Provide technical guidance and promote best working practices among staff to maintain high standards of safety and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, international standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on energy conservation and process optimization, including preparing feasibility reports, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), procurement follow-up, and ensuring safe project execution.
- Conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to identify skill gaps and facilitate both classroom and on-field training programs to enhance workforce capabilities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to align operational goals with business objectives.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to develop cost-effective substitutes for imported materials, reducing dependency and optimizing costs.
- Utilize ERP systems such as SAP, along with Lean Six Sigma tools, MS Office, ETAB, AutoCAD, and Power BI to support preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Apply knowledge of international standards including Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Integrated Management Systems (IMS), Good Practice Manufacturing (GPM), ISO standards, and Food Safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in managing operations and maintenance functions within a complex industrial environment.
- Strong technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, civil, and utility systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of maintenance methodologies like RCM, CBM, and Time Bound Maintenance.
- Experience in managing Capex projects with a track record of delivering on time and within budget.
- Proficiency in inventory management, contractor management, and multidisciplinary team leadership.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred), Lean Six Sigma, and relevant software tools such as AutoCAD and Power BI.
- Comprehensive understanding of international standards related to EHS, IMS, GPM, ISO, and Food Safety.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
