Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced KYC Analyst to join our compliance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough Know Your Customer (KYC) due diligence on both new and existing clients, ensuring adherence to international and local regulatory standards. This role demands a proactive approach to identifying risks, maintaining accurate client records, and collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to uphold the highest standards of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive KYC due diligence for onboarding new clients and periodic reviews of existing clients to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collect, verify, and validate client information from various sources, including internal teams, clients directly, and publicly available databases.
- Monitor client profiles continuously, ensuring timely updates and renewals of KYC documentation to maintain current and accurate records.
- Screen clients against global sanctions lists and internal watchlists to identify any potential risks or adverse findings.
- Promptly identify and escalate suspicious activities or any adverse findings to the relevant compliance authorities for further investigation.
- Collaborate effectively with Compliance Officers and Relationship Managers to resolve exceptions and clarify any discrepancies in client information.
- Ensure all KYC processes comply with international standards such as FATF (Financial Action Task Force), FinCEN (Financial Crimes Enforcement Network), and applicable local regulations.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records, including Management Information System (MIS) reports, to support audit and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in transaction variation analysis and assist in broader risk assessment activities to detect unusual or potentially illicit transactions.
- Proactively suggest process improvements to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of the KYC and AML compliance functions.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in customer due diligence, AML compliance, and risk mitigation within a financial services or related environment.
- Strong knowledge of AML/KYC standards and familiarity with international regulatory frameworks governing financial crime prevention.
- Hands-on experience with customer screening tools such as World-Check, LexisNexis, or equivalent platforms.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail to identify inconsistencies or suspicious activities.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and collaborating across teams.
- Results-oriented with a proactive mindset and the ability to work efficiently under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and organize work effectively, ensuring compliance and operational excellence.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience in Trade or Payment operations is highly desirable, providing valuable context for transaction monitoring and risk assessment.
- Project management knowledge, particularly PMP certification, is considered a plus and will support process improvement initiatives.
