Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Trainer to join our team. This role is pivotal in preparing new sales representatives through comprehensive orientation, coaching, and hands-on training. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing tailored training plans, facilitating skill development sessions, and ensuring that sales teams meet financial and performance objectives. This position requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a complex organizational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare new sales representatives by conducting thorough orientation sessions covering sales processes, and developing individualized coaching plans tailored to their needs. Provide ongoing resources and support, including scheduling orientation drive-alongs with senior sales representatives to enhance practical learning.
- Lead exercise sessions for both new hires and existing sales employees to continually improve sales techniques and product knowledge.
- Identify and pursue potential business opportunities by contacting prospective partners and exploring new markets. Evaluate these opportunities by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, financial viability, and overall potential.
- Monitor and observe sales encounters, gathering feedback and performance data from trainees to assess progress and effectiveness of training programs.
- Collaborate closely with other sales trainers and sales managers to ensure alignment and consistency in training delivery and sales strategies.
- Design and implement structured training plans that align with and support the company’s financial goals and sales targets.
- Manage the hiring and onboarding process for new sales trainees, ensuring a smooth transition into the company culture and sales team.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices by participating in educational opportunities and reviewing professional publications.
- Take ownership of new challenges and requests, proactively seeking opportunities to enhance the value and impact of training initiatives.
- Comply with all company policies, standards, and procedures in all aspects of job performance.
- Demonstrate strong prospecting, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills to model best practices for trainees.
- Effectively measure and analyze sales performance metrics to guide coaching and development efforts.
- Build and develop cohesive, high-performing sales teams through outstanding coaching and leadership.
- Navigate complex political environments within the organization to facilitate training and sales objectives.
- Work independently and collaboratively, adapting to the needs of the team and company.
- Analyze financial data and prepare detailed reports, statements, and projections to support training and sales strategies.
