Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to oversee the full payroll lifecycle, ensuring accurate and timely salary processing while maintaining compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring salaries are processed accurately and on schedule.
- Verify and process payroll inputs, including employee attendance, bonuses, deductions, and benefits, maintaining precise records.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and respond promptly to employee inquiries related to payroll matters.
- Keep current with federal, provincial, and local tax laws impacting payroll, ensuring full compliance in all calculations and reporting.
- Prepare and submit tax reports and documentation in line with regulatory requirements, maintaining audit-ready records.
- Utilize Human Capital Management (HCM) software to process payroll, maintain data integrity, and generate detailed payroll reports.
- Troubleshoot payroll software issues and collaborate with the software development team to improve system performance and functionality.
- Provide training and ongoing support to payroll system users, guiding them on system features and best practices.
- Analyze payroll data regularly to ensure accuracy, compliance, and to identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of payroll transactions for internal reviews and external audits.
- Offer expert advice and support to clients on payroll and tax-related inquiries, helping them navigate complex payroll challenges.
- Assist clients in maximizing the efficiency of their HCM software usage to streamline payroll operations and enhance overall productivity.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience managing comprehensive payroll processes in a corporate or client-facing environment.
- Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations at federal, provincial, and local levels.
- Proficiency in using HCM or payroll software systems with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
