Job Summary
The U.S. Embassy in Islamabad is seeking experienced English Language Instructors to deliver comprehensive language training to embassy personnel. The role requires developing and implementing curricula aligned with Foreign Service Institute (FSI) standards, providing instruction through both in-person and virtual platforms, and assessing student proficiency to ensure effective learning outcomes. Instructors will customize lesson plans and training materials to address the diverse needs of embassy staff, ranging from beginner to advanced proficiency levels.

Key Responsibilities
Instructors will conduct English language classes for U.S. Embassy employees, strictly following FSI guidelines across all proficiency levels. They will design tailored lesson plans and training resources that optimize learning efficiency and ensure systematic content delivery. The role involves providing job-specific language training that caters to the unique requirements of diplomatic, security, and administrative positions within the embassy.

Regular assessment of students is a critical component of this position. Instructors will administer language proficiency tests and conduct ongoing evaluations to monitor progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly. Classes will be delivered both in-person at the embassy and online through platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet.

Additionally, instructors are responsible for meticulously tracking student progress and submitting detailed monthly reports that include feedback and performance records. This ensures transparency and supports continuous improvement in language acquisition.

Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics, Education, English, or a closely related field. A minimum of five years’ experience teaching English to adult learners is essential, with proven expertise in curriculum development. Familiarity with FSI-based assessments is preferred to align instruction with embassy standards.

Native-level English proficiency is required, demonstrated either through certification such as IELTS or equivalent experience. Additionally, the ability to understand and communicate in Urdu is necessary to facilitate effective interaction with embassy staff.

Technical proficiency is important, including experience in adult classroom teaching and strong skills in MS Office applications. Candidates must also be adept at using online teaching platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet. Strong classroom management capabilities and cultural adaptability are essential to succeed in this role.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Candidates with prior experience working in government settings, embassies, or diplomatic training environments will be given preference. Ideally, applicants should reside in Islamabad or nearby areas and be available to start immediately.

This is a contract-based position offering a monthly salary between Rs50,000 and Rs60,000. The primary work location is the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad, with some virtual instruction as required.
