Mott MacDonald’s International Development Services Unit is launching a major initiative in Pakistan and is seeking qualified professionals to join its team in Islamabad. These roles offer flexible working arrangements, including part-time, full-time, and variable hours, catering to diverse candidate needs. Key Responsibilities
Team Leader:
The Team Leader will engage proactively with government officials at federal, provincial, and local levels. This role requires developing politically astute intervention strategies tailored to various workstreams. A deep understanding of Pakistan’s political economy will be essential to guide project direction and ensure effective stakeholder engagement.
Strategic Learning and Monitoring Lead (Deputy Team Leader):
This position leads monitoring, learning, and evidence generation activities to support adaptive management throughout the project lifecycle. The role includes managing internal and external reporting processes and ensuring accountability aligned with a flexible learning agenda embedded within technical assistance workstreams.
Disaster Resilience Thematic Lead:
The Disaster Resilience Lead will provide expert guidance on disaster management, covering preparedness, response, and recovery phases. Responsibilities include developing and implementing strategies to enhance community and organizational resilience. Collaboration with government bodies to influence strategic initiatives and regulatory frameworks is key, alongside addressing social vulnerabilities and intersectional issues related to disaster resilience.
Climate Finance and Adaptation Thematic Lead:
This role oversees strategic planning, resource mobilization, and program management focused on climate adaptation. The lead will drive capacity building, research, and advocacy efforts addressing climate impacts. Close collaboration with government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders is required, along with securing and managing financial resources dedicated to climate adaptation projects.
Additional Roles to Support Implementation:
- Governance and Political Economy Lead: Provide insights into governance frameworks and political dynamics critical to program delivery.
- GEDSI Lead: Champion gender equality, disability, and social inclusion principles across all projects.
- Finance and Project Administration Lead: Manage financial operations and project administration to ensure smooth and effective execution.
- Strategic Communications and Knowledge Management Lead: Design and implement communication strategies and oversee knowledge dissemination to maximize project impact.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must demonstrate relevant expertise and experience aligned with their specific role. Essential qualifications include strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, a comprehensive understanding of political and governance contexts, and proven abilities in strategic planning, monitoring, and program management.
