Job Summary
Nestlé is currently seeking a Transport Planning Associate to join the team at the Post Qasim Factory in Karachi on a contractual basis. This role is pivotal in managing transport planning operations from Port Qasim, covering the entire southern region of Pakistan. Additionally, the position oversees internal transfers between Nestlé factories. The primary focus is on optimizing transport routes and processes to ensure timely and efficient deliveries. The role requires close collaboration with multiple stakeholders across the supply chain network to maintain smooth operations and high service standards.
Key Responsibilities
The Transport Planning Associate will be responsible for executing daily transport requirements to guarantee on-time dispatches while minimizing vehicle downtime. Prompt communication and escalation of any transport-related issues to relevant stakeholders are essential to maintain operational flow.
Monitoring the fleet through AI camera observations is a critical task, with the responsibility to organize driver training programs based on data insights to improve driver performance and safety. The role involves leading both inbound and outbound operations by effectively planning and allocating resources such as material handling operators and labor, ensuring strict adherence to Nestlé’s safety protocols.
Maintaining accurate records is vital. The associate will compile data on overtime, labor productivity, and material handling utilization to track performance continuously. They will also prepare and oversee the monthly inventory reconciliation report alongside the team, ensuring all documentation is complete and properly authorized.
Coordination with sales and customer service teams is necessary to facilitate smooth order processing and execution. The associate will manage the monthly internal shifting plan in collaboration with demand and supply planners to ensure supply execution remains flexible and responsive to changing conditions.
Ensuring the timely supply of empty pallets to production units and proactively addressing any shortages is another key responsibility. The associate must maintain FEFO (First Expired, First Out) compliance during loading operations to uphold product quality standards.
All operational activities must comply with established standard operating procedures (SOPs). The role also requires implementing Good Warehouse Practices and upholding the Nestlé Food Safety Management System within the distribution center.
Effective communication is crucial. The associate will maintain clear and timely dialogue with internal teams, transporters, and team leaders to resolve transport-related queries and provide regular updates.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized institution. Prior experience in transport planning within an organizational setting is essential, along with practical knowledge of analytics and inventory management.
Strong communication skills are required to coordinate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. The ability to identify and resolve transport-related challenges efficiently is critical for success in this role.
Excellent organizational skills are needed to prioritize tasks, set realistic timelines, and ensure timely delivery. Candidates should demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in managing unexpected situations and changes in plans.
