Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cost Estimator to join our team, specializing in custom packaging solutions such as corrugated boxes, rigid boxes, folding cartons, and specialty packaging. The primary responsibility of this role is to accurately assess all cost factors—including materials, labor, equipment, and logistics—to provide comprehensive and competitive quotes to clients. This position plays a vital role in balancing cost efficiency with profitability, ensuring that all estimates align with company financial goals while meeting customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
The Cost Estimator will review and analyze customer specifications, drawings, and packaging requirements to gain a clear understanding of project needs. This involves calculating costs related to materials, labor, machine time, tooling, printing, die-cutting, and finishing processes specific to custom box manufacturing.

Collaboration is essential in this role. You will work closely with sales, design, and production teams to gather all necessary information for accurate cost estimation. Preparing detailed and timely cost estimates and customer quotations is a core function, along with recommending cost-saving alternatives or design modifications to enhance pricing competitiveness.

Maintaining and updating pricing databases for materials, labor rates, and vendor costs is critical to ensure estimates reflect current market conditions. You will coordinate with procurement teams to stay informed about material price fluctuations and industry trends.

Additionally, the Cost Estimator will assist in cost analysis for new product development and project feasibility studies. By analyzing historical data, you will continuously improve the accuracy of cost estimates. Supporting production planning by identifying major cost drivers and opportunities for efficiency improvements is also part of the role.

Finally, all estimates must comply with company profit margin targets and pricing strategies, ensuring financial objectives are met without compromising quality or client satisfaction.

Required Qualifications
Candidates must have a minimum of two years’ experience as a cost estimator within the packaging, printing, or manufacturing industries, with a preference for those experienced in custom packaging. A strong understanding of packaging materials, production processes, and finishing techniques is essential.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and costing software, including ERP systems or specialized estimation tools, is required to perform detailed analyses and maintain accurate records. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical skills.

The ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively under tight deadlines is crucial. Strong communication and teamwork skills are necessary to collaborate across departments and provide clear, concise cost information to stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
This is a full-time, in-person position based in Garden Town, Lahore. The working hours are from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am. The monthly salary range for this role is Rs60,000 to Rs70,000.
