Job Summary
A reputable and well-established baby clothing and accessories brand is looking to hire a creative and skilled Fashion Designer to join its growing design team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing seasonal collections tailored for infants and toddlers, covering a diverse range of eastern and western apparel, swaddles, and accessories. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute original ideas while working closely with production and sampling teams to transform concepts into high-quality babywear products.
Key Responsibilities
The Fashion Designer will be responsible for creating seasonal collections for children aged 0 to 5 years, including various apparel styles and complementary accessories. This involves developing detailed tech packs that specify measurements, fabric choices, stitching techniques, trims, and finishing details to ensure precise execution. The role requires producing CADs and digital illustrations to aid in product presentations and secure internal approvals.
Conducting thorough research on both local and international babywear trends, fabric innovations, and safety standards is essential to keep designs fresh, relevant, and compliant with industry regulations. The designer will collaborate closely with sampling and production teams to ensure that the final products accurately reflect the original design intent.
Additionally, the candidate will coordinate with suppliers on print and embroidery developments, maintaining high standards of quality and design integrity throughout the production process. Managing mood boards, color palettes, and thematic elements for each seasonal collection will also be a key part of the role, helping to establish a cohesive and compelling brand identity.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or Textile Design from a recognized institution. A minimum of 1 to 2 years of professional experience in fashion or apparel design is required, with a strong preference for candidates who have experience in kidswear.
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and MS Excel is essential for creating designs and managing technical documentation. A solid understanding of garment construction, basic pattern making, and various fabric types is also necessary to ensure practical and feasible designs.
Experience in preparing detailed tech packs and CADs is critical, as is the ability to communicate effectively and manage time efficiently. Strong teamwork skills are important, as this role involves close collaboration with multiple departments.
Additional Information
This full-time position is based in the SITE area of Karachi. Working hours are from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The role requires the candidate to work on-site and be actively involved in the day-to-day design and production processes.
