Job Summary
Sakura Japanese Restaurant, renowned for delivering an authentic Japanese dining experience paired with exceptional service, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Restaurant Manager. This full-time role involves managing daily operations across both our Japanese and Chinese dining concepts. The successful candidate will ensure the highest standards of service, food quality, and guest satisfaction are consistently met. Reporting directly to the Owner or Operations Director, the Restaurant Manager will lead a diverse team, upholding the restaurant’s esteemed reputation for excellence. Prior managerial experience within Japanese restaurants, along with a deep understanding of Japanese dining culture, service etiquette, and cuisine, is essential.

Key Responsibilities
The Restaurant Manager will oversee and coordinate all daily restaurant activities to ensure smooth and seamless guest experiences. This includes managing both front-of-house and kitchen teams through recruitment, training, scheduling, and ongoing performance management. Maintaining consistent quality in food, service, and ambiance is critical, with a strong focus on adhering to traditional Japanese standards.

Handling customer feedback professionally and resolving any issues promptly is a key part of the role. The manager will also be responsible for inventory management, including stock control, ordering supplies, and nurturing vendor relationships to ensure operational efficiency. Maintaining strict hygiene, safety protocols, and compliance with all regulatory requirements is mandatory at all times.

Collaboration with chefs is vital to maintain menu consistency and optimize food preparation processes. The manager will analyze sales and expense reports regularly to develop strategies aimed at achieving revenue targets while controlling costs effectively. Additionally, supporting marketing initiatives and promotional campaigns in partnership with the brand team will help drive business growth.

Required Qualifications
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business Management, or a related field, which is preferred but not mandatory. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of managerial experience specifically within Japanese restaurants is required. Experience with Chinese cuisine is considered an advantage.

A strong knowledge of Japanese dining culture, service style, and menu components is essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proven leadership skills, with the ability to make sound decisions and effectively build and motivate teams. The role demands excellent multitasking abilities, resilience under pressure, and a commitment to maintaining high service standards.

Familiarity with POS systems and restaurant management software is necessary. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is also required to meet the operational needs of the restaurant.
