Job Summary
The Assistant Manager Finance for the Core Diagnostics division based in Karachi is a critical position responsible for supporting the business’s sustainable and efficient operations. This role demands a deep understanding of complex financial principles, strong data analysis capabilities, and strict adherence to company policies and procedures. The incumbent will ensure the accuracy and punctuality of financial reporting, which is vital for informed decision-making and improving operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
The Assistant Manager Finance will prepare various sales dashboards and work closely with the Area Finance Team to compile and submit detailed plans and area-specific financial reports. They will assist in reviewing data for accuracy, compliance, and relevance, ensuring that both internal and external customer requirements are met.
Monthly reporting is a key part of the role, including the preparation of SG&A (Selling, General & Administrative) data sheets. The individual will analyze sales and cost data by customer, distributor, and item, assess free-of-charge (FOC) goods distribution, recommend appropriate actions, and provide supporting rationale for these recommendations.
Coordination with the Record to Report (RTR) team and the Material Control department is essential for preparing sales tax reports, including input and output tax, to facilitate timely sales tax return submissions. The role also involves working with the Sales Tax Payment (STP) team to ensure vendor payments are made promptly, bookings are accurately assigned to the correct cost centers and natural accounts, and records are maintained for audit and control purposes.
The Assistant Manager Finance will follow up on payments with both internal and external customers, resolve queries, and provide reconciliations alongside Accounts Receivable (ACR) ledgers and aging reports to relevant stakeholders. They will be responsible for receiving payments, posting them into the accounting system, and maintaining precise payment records.
Additional duties include assisting in the preparation of agreements, customer profiles, and notices as required. The role also involves preparing and reporting on H.5.6, H.3.7, GPR, and P2 reports by providing inventory reconciliations, general ledger and subsidiary reconciliations, and cost sheet reconciliations.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance, or possess an ACCA qualification or be a CA finalist. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a commercial finance role is required, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
Strong interpersonal skills are essential to build and maintain effective relationships across all organizational levels. Proficiency in computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database management is mandatory. The candidate must demonstrate flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also critical for success in this role.
