A reputable USA-based company specializing in technical support services for small and medium-sized businesses across the United States is looking to hire a Technical Support Engineer in Islamabad. This full-time role focuses on delivering remote technical assistance to US clients during the night shift while actively collaborating with the headquarters team on various IT projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to efficiently manage and resolve a broad spectrum of IT challenges.
Key Responsibilities
The Technical Support Engineer will provide backend technical support to US-based clients by diagnosing and resolving IT issues within managed and data center-hosted environments. This includes working on network and server infrastructure projects, such as modifications and builds on Windows Server platforms. The role requires maintaining consistent communication with technical teams in the USA to ensure client issues are addressed promptly and satisfactorily.
Troubleshooting responsibilities extend to client-facing technologies, including computers, IT peripherals, mobile devices, audiovisual equipment, software applications, network and telephony hardware, and printers. The engineer will actively participate in weekly technical meetings aimed at resolving complex technical and administrative challenges. Additionally, the role involves taking part in a weekly on-call rotation to provide after-hours support when necessary.
Security is a key aspect of the position, with duties including the installation and management of antivirus solutions to maintain client security compliance.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, accompanied by 1 to 3 years of experience in end-user support, remote technical support, or technical coordination roles. A strong ability to identify, document, and address customer requirements effectively is essential.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are required to facilitate clear interaction with US-based clients and teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365, and Windows operating systems (Windows 7, 8, 10) is necessary. Experience troubleshooting audiovisual equipment and multifunction printers is also expected.
Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V, along with experience in Office 365 migration and troubleshooting, is important. A solid understanding of networking concepts, issue resolution, and compliance maintenance is required to perform effectively in this role.
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work independently, show self-motivation, and commit to continuous learning to enhance their technical expertise. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a positive, energetic attitude are critical for success.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Certifications such as MCSE, MCSA, VCP, CCNA, or equivalent credentials are considered valuable assets. In-depth knowledge of core Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Remote Desktop Services, Terminal Services, and Azure, will further strengthen a candidate’s profile.
The position offers a competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs65,000 to Rs85,000. The work location is onsite in Islamabad, providing direct engagement with the team and hands-on involvement in projects.
