Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and experienced L2 Operations Specialist to join our on-site team, supporting and maintaining mission-critical applications within a fast-paced FinTech environment. The successful candidate will bring over four years of IT operations experience, ideally within FinTech, and possess strong troubleshooting capabilities for complex application and infrastructure issues. This role requires a proactive mindset to ensure system availability and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve incidents swiftly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
As an L2 Operations Specialist, you will provide Level 2 support for DFS platforms, ensuring consistent uptime and optimal system performance. You will monitor and troubleshoot application issues using advanced monitoring tools such as ELK Stack and AppDynamics. When issues cannot be resolved at your level, you will conduct thorough root cause analysis and escalate to Level 3 or development teams as needed.
You will be responsible for maintaining and managing application environments running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), OpenShift, and IBM CloudPak platforms. Additionally, you will monitor and query databases including MongoDB, MySQL, and Oracle to analyze and resolve operational issues.
A strong understanding of core FinTech workflows, APIs, message queues like Kafka and IBM MQ, as well as caching systems such as Redis and DataGrid, is essential. You will also focus on automating repetitive operational tasks using scripting languages to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
Participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation is required to ensure continuous support coverage and rapid incident response.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have a minimum of four years’ experience in IT operations, preferably within the FinTech sector or related industries. Expertise in monitoring and troubleshooting tools, specifically AppDynamics and ELK Stack, is essential.
Proficiency in working with databases such as MongoDB, MySQL, Oracle, and IBM DB2 is required. Hands-on experience with OpenShift, IBM CloudPak, and Linux-based operating systems is critical for this role.
Strong scripting skills in Shell, Python, and Ansible are necessary to automate operational tasks effectively. A solid understanding of networking components and security best practices is also important.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools like Jenkins and GitLab will be considered a strong advantage. Familiarity with Kubernetes and microservices architecture is a plus.
Linux server administration skills and relevant certifications such as OpenShift, IBM Cloud, or MongoDB certifications will further strengthen your application.
