Job Summary
PFG is looking for a dedicated and customer-focused Transport & Logistics Officer to join our team at Phase 7, Bahria Town Rawalpindi. This full-time, on-site position operates Monday to Friday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring smooth communication between stakeholders, swiftly resolving operational challenges, and maintaining a seamless delivery experience. This role demands strong decision-making abilities, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the capacity to manage real-time logistics issues while upholding high standards of customer service and delivery efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
The Transport & Logistics Officer will utilize transport-related IT software to plan and coordinate daily transport operations efficiently. They will assist in supervising transport staff, maintaining ongoing communication with drivers throughout the day, and conducting thorough debriefs with necessary follow-up actions.
Proactively identifying and resolving potential operational service failures to minimize customer complaints is a critical part of the role. The officer will prepare optimized daily computerized driver routes designed to maximize productivity and revenue.
Coordination with vehicle workshops and the Fleet department is essential to confirm fleet availability for upcoming schedules. Supporting the Head of Transport/Logistics Director in arranging third-party transport and temporary staffing will also be required.
Ensuring compliance with the Company’s Operators Licence in collaboration with senior management is a key responsibility. The officer will download and manage infringement reports from the RHA Portal, facilitating discussions and documentation with drivers.
Fuel consumption data analysis, fuel replenishment management, and placing orders as needed fall under this role’s duties. Accurate maintenance and updating of Fleet Check records, along with producing detailed weekly and monthly management reports, are also expected.
The role may require adaptability to support a 24/7 operating environment when necessary. Monitoring live vehicle and trailer tracking, promptly resolving incidents, and arranging alternatives to maintain operational parameters are vital tasks.
The officer will oversee the timely completion of six-week Preventive Maintenance Inspections (PMIs) and annual MOTs, updating the maintenance planner accordingly. Building strong working relationships with drivers and helpers to meet departmental goals is important.
Addressing obstacles related to delivery delays or threats to timely freight delivery is a priority. The officer will collaborate closely with the team to maintain high service standards for customers.
Organizing vehicle recovery and assisting with breakdowns through third-party service providers, scheduling and coordinating maintenance work via Fleet Check, and ensuring immediate attention to vehicle defects reported by drivers are part of daily responsibilities.
Processing transport-related invoices promptly and accurately, managing day-to-day fleet planning including routing, sequencing, and driver briefings, and coordinating with colleagues across depots to optimize delivery solutions within the network complete the scope of work.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (BBA), International Relations, or a related field. A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience as a Transport Planner or in a similar logistics role is essential.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with practical hands-on experience is required. A strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service with transparency and honesty is vital.
