Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Computer Instructor to join our team at the Safe Home in Islamabad, Pakistan. This full-time position is integral to empowering women and adolescents by providing basic digital literacy training. The successful candidate will report directly to the Education Facilitator and will be responsible for delivering foundational computer skills that enhance educational and economic opportunities for residents. Working within a trauma-informed environment, the instructor must ensure a safe, supportive, and respectful learning atmosphere. This role requires a minimum of three years’ experience and is open to candidates up to 40 years of age. The fixed monthly salary is PKR 50,000.
Key Responsibilities
The Computer Instructor will design and implement basic computer literacy sessions tailored specifically for women and adolescent learners residing at the Safe Home. This includes providing hands-on support and practical guidance to ensure learners gain confidence and competence in using digital tools. The instructor will maintain and troubleshoot computer lab equipment to guarantee smooth operation during training sessions. Accurate monitoring and documentation of attendance and skill development progress are essential to track learner outcomes. Collaboration with other educational programs is expected to integrate digital skills where relevant. Additionally, the instructor will promote safe and responsible use of the internet and digital devices, fostering awareness among participants about online safety and digital ethics.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have formal training or professional experience in computer instruction or IT literacy. Proven experience teaching or mentoring adult learners or adolescents is essential, demonstrating the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs patiently. The role demands a strong commitment to confidentiality and sensitivity, given the protection-focused and trauma-informed nature of the environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with vulnerable populations and maintaining a respectful, supportive classroom atmosphere.
