Job Summary
The Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) is a globally recognized system dedicated to monitoring displacement and population mobility. It achieves this by regularly collecting, processing, and sharing data to better understand the movements and changing needs of displaced populations. Currently, DTM is expanding its operations in Pakistan, covering multiple districts including Chagai, Jafferabad, Usta Muhammad, Kachhi, Khuzdar, Killa Abdullah, Killa Saifullah, Loralai, Mastung, Naseerabad, Pishin, Quetta, Sibi, Sohbatpur, and Zhob. To support these efforts, DTM is seeking motivated enumerators on a contractual basis to conduct field data collection targeting diverse mobile populations.
Key Responsibilities
Enumerators will be responsible for organizing and preparing the data collection process by engaging with identified key informants or groups. They will conduct both quantitative and qualitative data collection through face-to-face or telephonic interviews, ensuring all activities meet established deadlines. Accuracy is paramount; therefore, enumerators must verify the data before submission and ensure timely delivery.
Regular progress updates are expected, along with prompt reporting of any challenges encountered during data collection, including issues related to data recording and submission. Enumerators are required to meet daily interview targets as per DTM guidelines. Maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of collected data is critical, and all enumerators must adhere strictly to IOM’s Data Protection manual.
Participation in briefings, orientation sessions, and training programs is mandatory to ensure alignment with DTM standards and procedures. Enumerators will represent the program professionally at all times and may be assigned additional duties by their supervisors as needed.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must possess at least a secondary school diploma from an accredited institution. Undergraduate students and fresh graduates are encouraged to apply, making this an excellent opportunity for those early in their careers. Fluency in Urdu is essential for effective communication.
Proficiency in local languages such as Balochi, Pashto, Punjabi, or Sindhi is considered an advantage, enhancing the ability to engage with diverse populations. Basic English communication skills are also a plus, supporting coordination and reporting tasks.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Experience in conducting face-to-face or telephone interviews for data collection is highly desirable but not mandatory. While a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution is preferred, it is not a strict requirement for this role.
The position offers a competitive ungraded daily wage of PKR 6,000, which includes travel and communication expenses related to field data collection. This contractual role provides the opportunity to work across various districts in Pakistan, gaining valuable field experience in displacement tracking.
IOM is committed to equal employment opportunities and encourages applications from all qualified candidates, including women and persons with disabilities.
Only shortlisted candidates who meet the specified criteria will be contacted for the next stages of the selection process. Interested applicants should submit their applications by 25th June 2025.
