Job Summary
Action Against Hunger in Islamabad, Pakistan, is offering an apprenticeship opportunity within its Program Development, Partnership, and Communication Department. This role supports donor reporting, proposal development, internal coordination, and communication activities across the country program. The position also contributes to communications, visibility, and advocacy efforts as required. Reporting directly to the Program Development and Partnerships Manager, this apprenticeship is open exclusively to female candidates, reflecting the organization’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. Please note that the appointment is contingent upon the approval and successful launch of upcoming projects.
Key Responsibilities
The apprentice will assist in developing Communications and Visibility Plans for each project to boost outreach and stakeholder engagement. They will coordinate and facilitate the drafting of the monthly newsletter to keep all stakeholders informed about ongoing activities and achievements.
Supporting field-level visibility activities is a key part of the role, including documentation and recording of events and initiatives. The apprentice will also develop essential communication materials such as presentations, case studies, IEC materials, human interest stories, and annual reports to enhance the organization’s visibility.
Collaboration with internal teams and external partners is crucial for collecting success stories, ad-hoc reports, and media monitoring inputs. The apprentice will contribute to quarterly report writing and support engagement with print and electronic media professionals across Pakistan.
During emergencies, the role involves assisting with communication and visibility efforts to ensure timely and accurate dissemination of information. The apprentice will also ensure the correct use of organizational logos, including on procured items, and maintain an updated archive of photos and videos for communication purposes.
Participation in program meetings and preparation of minutes will help document discussions and decisions. The apprentice will develop project progress presentations and manage content posting on ACF Pakistan’s social media platforms.
Supporting the Communication and Reporting team in finalizing internal and external progress reports—including APRs, CRFUs, quarterly, and donor reports—is an important responsibility. The role requires compliance with internal policies, processes, and financial management systems.
Maintaining and regularly updating communication and reporting archives, such as proposals, contracts, and reports, is essential. The apprentice must uphold and implement ACF’s gender equality, child protection, and safeguarding policies in all activities, fostering an inclusive office environment free from discrimination based on gender or disability.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold either a Master’s degree in Mass Communication or a related discipline with a minimum of three years’ experience in content development, or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with at least five years of relevant professional experience.
