Sr. Automation Specialist

Job Summary

Qualitest Group is seeking a seasoned Quality Assurance professional with over 8 years of experience in both manual and automation testing. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of direct experience in mobile application testing, with a strong emphasis on ensuring the quality, functionality, and compatibility of mobile and web applications. This role requires the candidate to work onsite at the Hyderabad office for the first month during the knowledge transfer phase. Following this, the position will transition to a hybrid work model, requiring at least one day per week onsite.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing detailed test scenarios, test cases, and scripts for both mobile and web applications. A critical part of the role involves reviewing compatibility across various mobile devices and web platforms, identifying and reporting any issues that could impact user experience or application performance.

Ensuring adherence to quality assurance standards and project timelines is essential. The candidate will use analytical and critical thinking skills to identify and resolve problems efficiently. Collaboration with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle is key to maintaining high-quality deliverables.

Additional responsibilities include assisting in troubleshooting mobile application issues and actively participating in Agile/Scrum ceremonies to support continuous improvement efforts. The role also involves managing defect tracking and maintaining test case documentation using tools such as JIRA, Rally, and Test Rail.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must have at least 8 years of experience in Quality Assurance, encompassing both manual and automation testing. A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience specifically in mobile application testing is required. A strong understanding of the mobile development lifecycle and familiarity with modern mobile platforms, including iOS and Android, is essential.

Proficiency in manual testing methodologies and QA best practices is expected. Experience with mobile testing tools and resources is necessary to effectively evaluate application performance and compatibility. The candidate should be well-versed in defect management and test case management tools such as JIRA, Rally, and Test Rail.

Strong communication skills are vital for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders. Experience in mobile automation testing on Android or iOS platforms is required, with proficiency in Appium using Java for running tests on both platforms (rated 3/5). Additionally, the candidate should be skilled in Selenium with Java for web automation testing (rated 4/5).
