Job Summary
We are looking for a seasoned professional to lead gap assessments and design a comprehensive compliance monitoring and testing framework within the data management and governance space. This pivotal role acts as the main point of contact between internal audit, Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), risk management, and technology teams. The goal is to align and define controls and metrics that support the implementation of policies and standards. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience from the banking and financial services sector, with a solid foundation in regulatory compliance and data governance.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will conduct thorough gap assessments to pinpoint weaknesses in compliance and governance frameworks. They will develop and deploy a robust compliance monitoring and testing framework tailored to organizational needs. Collaboration is essential, working closely with internal audit, GRC, risk, and technology teams to ensure controls are aligned and key performance metrics are clearly defined.

This role also involves facilitating the adoption of organizational policies and standards related to data management, ensuring these are embedded effectively across teams. The candidate will lead impact analysis, solution design, and implementation efforts within the data management framework, driving improvements and innovation.

Managing multiple large-scale engagements simultaneously is a critical aspect of this position, requiring strong project oversight and decisive decision-making to ensure successful outcomes. Additionally, the role demands driving the execution of the data strategy roadmap across the organization, aligning initiatives with broader business objectives.

Effective communication is vital, as the candidate must translate complex data governance concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders and proactively addressing challenges will be essential for sustained success.

Required Qualifications
Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in data management and governance, with a focus on compliance and regulatory reporting within the banking and financial services industry. A Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Computer Science, Finance, or a related discipline is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.

Excellent command of English, coupled with strong communication and interpersonal skills, is essential. A deep understanding of banking processes, systems, and regulatory requirements is critical to navigating this role effectively.

Experience in internal audit and technology governance forms a key part of the candidate’s background. Hands-on expertise with data governance tools such as Informatica DEQ, EDC, AXON, or similar platforms is expected. The ability to collaborate seamlessly across internal audit, risk, and technology teams to develop and implement testing frameworks is crucial.

Proven skills in conducting gap assessments, performing impact analysis, designing solutions, and implementing data management frameworks are required. Candidates should have successfully managed at least 2-3 large engagements, demonstrating strong project management and decision-making capabilities.

A solid grasp of data management and governance concepts, particularly within the banking sector, is necessary. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with a proactive, self-starting attitude, are essential. The candidate must be adept at building and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships.
