Job Summary
We are looking for a committed Environmental Field Officer to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting environmental monitoring by conducting field sampling and data collection. Key Responsibilities
The Environmental Field Officer will be responsible for conducting comprehensive field sampling across multiple environmental media, including air, water, stack emissions, wastewater, and soil. Proper handling, labeling, and transportation of samples to the laboratory are essential to maintain their integrity. The role requires performing on-site measurements using portable testing instruments to capture real-time environmental data accurately.
In addition, the officer will assist in preparing detailed field reports and documentation based on observations and collected data. Coordination with clients and stakeholders during site visits is vital to facilitate smooth operations and promptly address any concerns that arise. Safety is paramount; therefore, strict compliance with safety protocols during all fieldwork activities is mandatory to protect both the individual and the team.
The position also involves supporting the installation, calibration, and maintenance of environmental monitoring equipment to ensure optimal performance. Conducting environmental site assessments and preparing comprehensive observations for further analysis are key duties. The officer will be responsible for maintaining and caring for field equipment and tools, ensuring they remain functional and ready for use at all times. Required Qualifications
Candidates should have a minimum education level of Intermediate, with at least one year of experience working as an Environmental Field Officer or in a similar capacity. The ability to work on-site and perform physically demanding fieldwork is essential. Familiarity with environmental sampling techniques and the use of portable testing instruments is required.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and reporting are critical for success in this role. Effective communication skills are necessary to interact professionally with clients and team members.
