Job Summary
A well-established group of companies in the textile and garments sector is seeking a dynamic and results-driven professional to join as General Manager – Sales & Marketing. This senior leadership role demands a strategic thinker with proven expertise in managing high-performing teams and a deep understanding of international markets. The ideal candidate will be responsible for steering the company’s sales and marketing efforts to achieve sustainable growth in a highly competitive global environment, particularly focusing on key export markets such as the US and EU.

Key Responsibilities
The General Manager will develop and execute comprehensive sales and marketing strategies that align with the company’s overall business objectives. Leading international business development initiatives, the role requires building and nurturing long-term relationships with global brands, buyers, and other critical stakeholders. Conducting in-depth market research and analyzing emerging trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics will be essential to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.

Setting ambitious sales targets and driving consistent revenue and market share growth through strategic planning and execution will be a core responsibility. The role involves close collaboration with merchandising, product development, and production teams to ensure customer needs are met with tailored solutions.

Representing the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events will enhance brand visibility and market presence. Additionally, the General Manager will lead, train, and mentor a high-performing sales and marketing team, fostering operational excellence and ensuring key performance indicators are met.

Optimizing the use of modern marketing tools, CRM systems, and sales analytics platforms to maximize efficiency and results will also fall under this role’s purview.

Required Qualifications
Candidates must have a proven track record in sales and marketing within the textile and garment industry, with a preference for experience in denim products. A strong understanding of global export markets, retail brands, and buying houses is essential. The role requires 12 to 15 years of relevant experience, including leadership and team management responsibilities.

An MBA in Marketing, Textile Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline is mandatory. Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills are critical for success in this position. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to develop and implement strategies that drive revenue growth in competitive international markets.

Proficiency in CRM systems, sales analytics, and digital marketing tools is required to effectively manage and optimize sales and marketing processes.
