Job Summary

We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Internal Cash Audit Officer to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive audits of cash transactions and handling procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies. This role is critical in identifying discrepancies, evaluating internal controls, and recommending improvements to protect company assets. By maintaining financial integrity and providing actionable insights, the Internal Cash Audit Officer will support senior management in making informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities

The Internal Cash Audit Officer will conduct both scheduled and surprise audits of cash transactions, cash handling processes, and cash balances to verify accuracy and adherence to company policies. This includes verifying the correctness of cash records such as daily receipts, disbursements, and deposits.

When discrepancies arise between recorded and actual cash balances, the officer will investigate thoroughly, document findings, and report issues promptly. A key part of the role is assessing the effectiveness of internal controls related to cash handling, including controls over cash registers, vaults, and safes.

Based on audit results, the officer will recommend enhancements to internal controls to prevent fraud, theft, and mismanagement of cash. Ensuring strict compliance with company cash management policies and procedures is essential.

The officer will prepare detailed audit reports summarizing findings, highlighting any discrepancies, and providing practical recommendations for improvement. These reports will be presented to senior management, along with suggested corrective actions to resolve identified issues.

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all audit activities, findings, and recommendations is a vital responsibility. The officer will also organize and ensure easy accessibility of all documentation related to cash transactions and audits.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must hold an ACCA, CA, or a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Proven experience in auditing, accounting, or a similar role with a focus on cash management is essential.

A strong understanding of internal controls, financial regulations, and best practices in cash management is required. Proficiency in financial auditing software and tools is also necessary to perform the role effectively.

Job Type and Compensation

This is a full-time position offering a competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs50,000 to Rs70,000, depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
