Assistant Network Administrator (IT)

Job Summary

We are looking for a proficient Network Administrator to join our IT team and ensure the continuous reliability, security, and efficiency of our data communications network. The ideal candidate will be responsible for deploying, configuring, maintaining, and monitoring all active network equipment to support seamless network operations. This role requires a hands-on approach to troubleshooting network issues, implementing robust security protocols, and proactively optimizing network performance to uphold a strong and dependable network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

The Network Administrator will provide comprehensive support for corporate customer networks and in-house servers, including configuration, maintenance, and upgrades. This includes installing and integrating new server hardware and applications as necessary to meet evolving business needs.

Regular monitoring and application of updates to network systems and software are essential to maintain optimal performance and security. The role also involves supporting and administering third-party applications to ensure their smooth operation within the network environment.

Maintaining network security is a critical responsibility, ensuring consistent connectivity across all systems. The Network Administrator will monitor key network performance metrics such as availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency. Conducting tests to identify vulnerabilities and potential risks will help in maintaining a secure and efficient network.

User account management is another important aspect, including setting up accounts, managing permissions, and enforcing password policies to safeguard access controls. Required Qualifications

The ability to efficiently set up and configure server hardware is required, along with familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies to ensure data protection and business continuity.

Excellent organizational skills are necessary to effectively prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required to meet the educational standards for this position.
