Job Summary
The General Manager – Operations will oversee and drive the full range of operational activities supporting US-based retail functions from Karachi. This leadership role demands a proactive, experienced professional with a strong “Customer First” mindset and a positive “Can Do” attitude. The successful candidate will manage large, cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination, exceptional service quality, and timely delivery within a fast-paced, night-shift environment. The operational responsibilities span remote support across Administration, IT Support, Supply Chain Management, and Finance, serving multiple business entities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage daily operations to optimize team productivity and operational efficiency. Develop and implement strategic policies and procedures that align with overall business objectives. Collaborate closely with US-based leadership and cross-functional teams to maintain operational alignment and drive excellence. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions promptly. Build and nurture strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders to support business goals. Quickly identify operational challenges and proactively mitigate risks to avoid disruptions. Ensure strict compliance with internal standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Champion process development initiatives and continuous improvement projects to enhance operational effectiveness. Train, mentor, and coach managers and team leads to strengthen leadership capabilities and foster a high-performance culture.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of 10 years of senior-level experience managing diverse operational functions is essential. Demonstrated success in leading large teams, particularly within a night-shift environment, is required. Strong expertise in business operations, including proficiency with ERP systems, POS platforms, and common office applications, is necessary. An MBA in Finance, Management, or a related advanced degree from a reputable institution is mandatory. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English are required to effectively engage with US-based stakeholders and internal teams. The candidate must possess strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. High integrity, professionalism, and a commanding leadership presence are critical. Experience working with US-based or international teams is highly desirable.
