Job Summary
The Senior Manager - Category plays a pivotal role in defining and executing the product category strategy to fuel business growth and enhance profitability. This leadership position involves comprehensive management of the product portfolio, driving new product development, demand forecasting, and inventory optimization. The Senior Manager champions a consumer-centric approach in category planning and works collaboratively with marketing, supply chain, and sales teams to convert product strategies into tangible business results.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the category’s revenue, profitability, and inventory management by overseeing the entire product lifecycle. This includes pricing and margin optimization at the SKU level to ensure maximum financial performance. Develop and continuously refine the Home category portfolio by leveraging data-driven insights for new product development, SKU rationalization, and phase-out strategies that align with evolving consumer trends and overarching business goals.
Create precise demand forecasts by SKU and partner closely with supply chain teams to maintain optimal inventory levels, thereby reducing aged or excess stock. Manage the successful launch of new products across various segments such as bedroom, living, dining, kids, and storage.
Collaborate with the Marketing Manager – Home to co-create product launch timelines, pricing strategies, and category communication plans that span multiple channels. Coordinate efforts with retail, e-commerce, and visual merchandising teams to boost product visibility and facilitate the clearance of slow-moving or phased-out inventory.
Lead monthly business reviews and develop comprehensive analytics dashboards (e.g., Power BI) that provide actionable insights through tools like ABC analysis, RFM, and velocity metrics. These insights are critical to informing category decisions and driving continuous improvement.
Work in close alignment with sales, marketing, and supply chain management teams to synchronize planning efforts and ensure the seamless execution of category objectives.
Required Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline is essential. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in category management, product management, or brand management, ideally within sectors such as furniture, appliances, fashion, or home décor.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
