Job Summary
Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan (AKHS, P) is seeking a proactive and experienced Senior/Manager Supply Chain to join its Karachi office. This leadership role requires a dynamic professional with a strong background in supply chain management and a dedication to operational excellence. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing procurement planning and contract management to ensure smooth supply chain operations that support business continuity, disaster recovery, crisis management, welfare programs, and capital budgets. This position involves close collaboration with vendors and internal stakeholders to maintain effective materials management across long, medium, and short-term horizons.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior/Manager Supply Chain will develop and implement procurement strategies tailored to construction contracts, capital expenditures (CAPEX), consultants, and other institutional needs. They will work closely with regional and program teams to assess and fulfill supply chain requirements, collecting and analyzing user needs to support strategic CAPEX planning.
Managing procurement activities in coordination with the Central Purchase Committee is a critical aspect of this role, including preparing detailed activity reports. The incumbent will identify, evaluate, and engage contractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with institutional and donor guidelines.
Preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQs) is essential, with strict adherence to specifications and project management protocols. The role also involves managing bid and Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes, maintaining transparency and compliance with procurement policies. Conducting bid evaluations, negotiating contracts, and finalizing agreements with selected vendors are key tasks.
Additionally, the Senior/Manager Supply Chain will update and optimize purchase policies related to construction, consulting, and procurement to enhance efficiency and compliance.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold an MBA or a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering, with relevant experience in civil engineering considered an advantage. A Supply Chain Certification is preferred but not mandatory.
Applicants should have a minimum of five years of professional experience in supply chain management, ideally within the healthcare sector. Familiarity with tendering processes and knowledge of Pakistan Engineering Council guidelines will be advantageous.
Strong expertise in supply chain processes and ERP systems is required, along with proficiency in MS Excel and Power BI. The role demands excellent negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills, combined with demonstrated leadership and interpersonal abilities. Adaptability and a service-oriented mindset are essential qualities for success in this position.
