Job Summary
Unilever is looking for a motivated Assistant Manager to join the Supply Chain team within the Black & White (B&W) category at its Rahim Yar Khan facility. This full-time position reports directly to the Works Manager – B&W and plays a critical role in managing the timely launch of new innovations, product relaunches, localizations, and any product modifications within the B&W portfolio. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including Brands, R&D, Regulatory, and the extended supply chain network, overseeing projects both at the factory and third-party manufacturing sites. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze manufacturing capacity within the B&W category and lead capacity enhancement initiatives by identifying bottlenecks, preparing robust business cases, and ensuring successful project delivery.
- Drive technology change projects related to processes and materials, including the introduction and implementation of new technologies in the B&W category.
- Coordinate all product trials at manufacturing sites to ensure smooth execution and validation.
- Conduct comprehensive asset mapping for all relevant projects to optimize resource utilization.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering teams to manage and execute new projects within the B&W category.
- Initiate and manage all Product Change Proposals (PCPs) and Capital Expenditure (Capex) activities at factory locations.
- Partner with the Regional Technology team to facilitate training programs aimed at building local manufacturing capabilities for B&W products.
- Lead the 5S Savings agenda, ensuring on-time and in-full (OTIF) delivery of savings projects aligned with operational goals.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor Make Savings for the B&W portfolio, providing monthly updates through the SRS reporting system.
- Support B&W Make Leadership in developing detailed manufacturing strategies and planning future capacity to meet evolving business demands.
- Provide technical support to operational teams to ensure seamless manufacturing operations compliant with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Organize and lead monthly Innovation Review Meetings with plant teams and other stakeholders to track progress and resolve challenges.
- Assist Quality, Safety, and ManEx teams by providing technical expertise for projects requiring specialized knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- At least 3 years of experience in manufacturing environments.
- Background in Supply Chain operations, Manufacturing, and/or Engineering.
- Strong analytical and project management skills with a proven track record.
- Good business acumen including a basic understanding of Profit & Loss (P&L) and detailed knowledge of NMSCC.
- Working knowledge of blown powder operations, fluid/solid dynamics, and packaging technologies.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience with data-driven decision-making methodologies.
- Proficiency in scenario and exception-based planning techniques.
