Job Summary
We are looking for a committed finance professional with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, ideally within the NGO sector, to take charge of all accounting operations. The successful candidate will possess a solid understanding of taxation, tax planning, and regulatory frameworks specific to NGOs and NPOs. This role is pivotal in managing budget allocation, developing financial policies, ensuring compliance, and delivering accurate financial reporting. The goal is to support the organization’s mission while maintaining robust financial health and transparency.
Key Responsibilities
The finance professional will oversee all accounting functions to ensure precise and up-to-date financial records. A deep knowledge of taxation and regulatory requirements applicable to NGOs and NPOs is essential to navigate compliance and optimize tax planning strategies.
Prior to the start of each fiscal year, the candidate will be responsible for allocating and enforcing the annual budget, promoting financial discipline across departments. They will also develop and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and accounting policies to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency.
Ensuring full compliance with statutory requirements is a critical part of this role. This includes coordinating and completing annual audits in collaboration with external auditors. The candidate will prepare comprehensive financial statements and present these reports, along with actionable recommendations, to senior management to support informed decision-making.
Effective communication and liaison with banks, external auditors, and tax consultants are necessary to facilitate smooth financial operations and maintain strong professional relationships. The candidate must stay well-informed about accounting principles and best practices to uphold the organization’s financial integrity.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold an MBA in Finance or possess ACCA certification. Additionally, 3 to 5 years of relevant experience is required, with a preference for those who have worked in the NGO sector. This experience ensures familiarity with the unique financial and regulatory challenges faced by non-profit organizations.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
