Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Affiliate/Sponsored Articles Editor to join our fast-paced digital newsroom. This full-time remote role is perfect for someone passionate about online journalism, current affairs, and producing engaging content for a global audience. You will work closely with writers, reporters, and editors to maintain high editorial standards across breaking news, trending stories, and evergreen features. A strong grasp of SEO best practices and headline optimisation is essential. While the position offers flexibility across time zones, it primarily serves a UK-based publication.

Key Responsibilities
Commissioning, editing, and publishing articles on a wide range of news topics will be your core duties. You will ensure every piece is clear, accurate, and consistent with our editorial standards. Staying alert to breaking news, emerging trends, and social media buzz is crucial to identify timely content opportunities. You will guide writers on tone, structure, and style, with a sharp eye for grammar and legal sensitivities. Crafting compelling headlines and introductions optimised for both readers and search engines is a key part of the role. Collaboration with editorial and digital teams to plan and manage content calendars will be ongoing. You will also ensure all content meets SEO, readability, and style guide standards. Occasionally, you may assist with light sub-editing or rewriting of syndicated or freelance content to maintain quality.

Required Qualifications
Candidates must have proven experience in an editorial role, ideally within a digital newsroom environment. A strong command of English grammar and news writing conventions, specifically British English, is essential. Familiarity with UK news cycles and audience preferences is required to deliver relevant content. You should have a solid understanding of SEO principles and keyword optimisation to maximise content reach. The ability to work independently while managing multiple deadlines effectively is critical. Flexibility to work across different time zones as needed is also important.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Experience with content management systems such as WordPress is highly desirable. Knowledge of media law and ethical reporting standards will be an advantage. A background in lifestyle, entertainment, or technology news is beneficial but not mandatory.

This role offers a competitive salary based on experience, with a monthly pay range of Rs35,000 to Rs40,000. The position is fully remote, providing flexibility to accommodate various working hours and time zones.
