Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects.
- Develop detailed budgets and manage project costs from inception to completion.
- Monitor and control project expenditures, ensuring they align with the established budget.
Contract Management:
- Draft and review contracts, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and the client’s needs.
- Negotiate terms with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Administer contracts and resolve disputes or claims regarding payments, delays, or quality.
Procurement and Tendering:
- Prepare tender documents and assist in the tendering process.
- Analyze tender bids and recommend the most suitable contractors or suppliers.
- Support in negotiating contract terms with suppliers and contractors.
Cost Control and Monitoring:
- Track the financial progress of projects, identifying potential cost overruns.
- Prepare cost reports and financial statements for clients and stakeholders.
- Provide advice on cost-saving measures and strategies to maintain project profitability.
Measurement and Valuation:
- Conduct site visits to measure quantities and ensure work is being completed as per the plans and specifications.
- Value the completed work and assess interim payments.
- Review variations in work and assess their cost implications.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess financial risks associated with the project.
- Implement strategies to mitigate risks and minimize potential losses.
Compliance and Legal:
- Ensure that the construction project complies with relevant building codes, regulations, and standards.
- Liaise with legal teams to handle disputes or claims efficiently.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare detailed reports on project costs, variances, and forecasts for clients and senior management.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and agreements.
