As a passionate defender of womens human rights and a dedicated social activist from rural Pukhtunkhwa, Dir Upper, Pakistan, I have committed my career to uplifting marginalized communities. With a Masters degree in clinical psychology from the University of Peshawar, my journey began with the local organization Step Towards Empowerment of Pupil (STEP). There, I provided psychological support to women and drug-addicted children, offering psycho-social training and forming child protection committees. My efforts directly impacted the lives of numerous children, helping them return to school, work, and home, thereby fostering a brighter future for the community.
My career progressed with Islamic Relief International, where I served as a clinical psychologist. I supported traumatized women and children migrating from militancy-affected areas, providing individual, group, and family counselling. I also established women-friendly and child-friendly spaces, creating safe havens that significantly improved the well-being and stability of the affected population.
In my role with the Social Welfare Department under the Provincial Commission for Child Welfare and Development (PCCWD), I continued to focus on aiding women and children. I created a network in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to ensure their growth and social development, empowering them to become active and resilient members of their communities.
As a project manager with the female-led Society for Appraisal Women Empowerment In Rural Areas (SAWERA), I strive for female empowerment in flood-affected areas. My initiatives, including water and sanitation projects, rehabilitation of damaged sanitation schemes, and installation of water hand pumps, have provided clean drinking water and improved living conditions for countless families. By offering technical support to my staff and developing training manuals for project management cycles for local womens groups.
