Planning and Executing Audit
While working as Supervisor at Grant Thornton (Pakistan), I’ve executed various internal audit, external audit and assurance engagements with particular focus in the Manufacturing, Power, Service Sector and Public Sector Companies. My key responsibilities include:
• leading and managing complex audits, performing critical duties in the planning, scheduling, coordinating, quality review and reporting of the work;
• Providing expertise in auditing standards and performance criteria, audit requirements and information technology skills;
• Evaluating and ensuring system of sound internal controls established, effectively implemented, managed, and maintained at all levels in the entity;
• Preparing concisely written audit reports for the management, detailing audit findings, conclusions, and agreed-upon corrective actions;
• Managing and improving the audit programs, procedures, and audits conducted, including identifying and defining issues, developing criteria, reviewing and analyzing evidence, and documenting processes and procedures;
• Using IDEA and T-Beam software to segregate and analyse the different complex accounting data;
• Engagement planning based on the understanding of the client’s business processes and assessment of business and audit risks;
• Supervision of the engagement, review and finalization, including close liaison with client’s management;
• Coordinating with various professionals such as lawyers, actuaries, independent valuators & IT experts and decision making in respect of critical reportable matters;
• Assisting the client in preparation of financial statements in accordance with applicable financial reporting framework including compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), local corporate laws and directives of regulatory authorities;
