Under the supervision of the Area Manager and with the technical support from Child Protection Coordinator, the Child Protection Officer will have a responsibility to supervise, coordinate and manage the child protection (CP) activities including Child Friendly Spaces (CFSs), formation of Children Clubs (CCs), developing a referral mechanism/pathways, and capacity building of community-based structures, project staff and persons from COSs & Government Departments on child protection and monitoring, life-skills and CP Case Management. The incumbent will work closely with the communities and children of concerns to identify the risks they face and to demonstrate their capacities to better protect themselves, their families and communities. The CPO will provide day to day supervision, guidance and on the job training to field staff and will also be responsible for assisting in tracking project’s progress by regular follow ups to ensure that project’s technical and financial progress is on track. The incumbent will be expected to work in close coordination with the team including Child Protection Coordinator, CFS Supervisors, Community Mobilizers, communities, children, Government representatives and CSOs.
Key of the tasks for the position holder may include, but are not limited to, the following:
§  Carry out Best Interest Determination (BID) and Best Interest Assessment (BIA) and prepare reports.
§  Conduct vulnerability assessments of unaccompanied and/or separated children (UASC) to help identify child protection risks, urgent needs and possible solutions for children.
§  Conduct follow-up and monitoring visits based on identified needs.
§  Conduct safe referrals of cases to internally or to relevant partner organizations and international organizations for appropriate follow-up and/or to other units within IRC for their respective follow-up.

Supervises the implementation of Child Protection activities at the district level ensuring appropriate coordination with all collaborators.
Ensure that all interventions are in-line with the IRC strategy, and CP Minimum Standards.
Supervise and provide technical support to Community Mobilizers/ CFS Supervisors by visiting Child Friendly Spaces and field locations on a regular basis, ensuring that activities are implemented in an agreed manner.
Establish and oversee the referral mechanism (Identification, registration, referral and case closure) for an effective support to the survivors/children at risk
Guide CFS supervisors in working with children to develop new, creative activities as appropriate.
Ensures that safeguarding standards are understood and met and ensures a safe and child-friendly atmosphere in the Child Friendly Space.
Strengthen community-based child protection mechanisms in coordination with community-based protection colleagues and organizations.
Generate and disseminate detailed daily / weekly information regarding activities (children attendance with breakdown by gender and age, activities carried out, issues affecting program delivery, material needs etc.) to the supervisor.
Work closely with SWD for the deployment and capacity building of case workers and strengthening of CP case management system in accordance with case management SOPs
Build strong relationships with relevant departments, other government actors as appropriate, and other collaborators, establishing IRC as a key actor in Child Protection.
Lead awareness raising campaigns for sensitization of communities and collaborators on child protection issues and concerns.
Ensures the participation of all groups of children, especially children who are most vulnerable.
Undertake regular field monitoring visits to assess progress and identify technical quality issues and/or other implementation issues, provide solutions and implement modifications as required.
Support field team including Social Mobilizer in conducting parents’ and community meetings.
Document success stories and lessons.
Ensures that health and safety regulations are understood and followed, and that health and safety incidents are logged
Ensures that equipment inventories are up to date and that replacement needs are highlighted.
Support preparation of requisitions for appropriate project supplies in line with approved budget from time to time.
Perform any other project related tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Report any violation of the child safeguarding policy and PSEA of IRC.
Establish and train community-based Safeguarding Groups on PSEA.

To coordinate and facilitate the project activities related to the target communities such as identification and formation of community-based committees/support groups, mobilize and facilitate active participation of community members, participate in planning, monitoring and implementation of agreed activities, support community groups in identification and prevention of community issues, identifying and resolving any related issues at the community level. o Responsible to directly engage with communities, children, government departments and Civil Society Organizations to establish an effective response. o Engaging community members in various project related activities ensuring that activities are implemented in an appropriate manner.o Contribute to design and implementation of outreach activities and provide timely inputs to project teamo Keep the community updated and involved about the project and its planned activities.o Consistently collect data on activities implemented and attendance, recording attendance of children and women and girls and submit weekly report.o Screen for and monitor risks to children and women and girls in and around safe spaces and report it to the Child Protection Officer and WPE officer for coordinated follow up.o Combine community groups to form protection committees in targeted communities.o  Regularly conduct meetings with the communities in assigned areas.o Support CP Officer and WPE Officer in mapping of service providers to establish district-based referral mechanisms.o Run awareness raising campaigns in communities.o Flag protection issues which need to be addressed through awareness raising activities and support the development of key messages and material. o Solving and reporting issues regarding children and women and girls and facilitators.o Report logistic needs to CP Officers and WPE Officer for any activities on-ground.o Ensure that the CP and GBV cases are identified from communities and Safe Spaces and are reported to caseworkers for further case management.o Develop and submit progress reports to CPO and WPO as and when required.o Ensure adherence to Code of Conduct and reporting procedures.o Perform any other project related tasks assigned by supervisor.

o Assessment of mental health needs of the beneficiaries and determination of the mental health status of the patients/clients leading to a clear diagnosis and proposed plan for treatment and psychotherapeutic approaches through individual counseling sessions.
o, Conduct family counseling sessions.
o, Conduct community group sensitization and psychoeducation sessions with beneficiaries on topics pertaining to mental health and psychosocial support, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
o Monitor the mental health needs of the community/beneficiaries and adopt the latest treatment approaches within the MHPSS domain for specialized services.
o Compile data at the end of every month for both individual and group sessions and share it with the Line Manager and M&E unit.
o Regular reporting of field activities and other activities (MHPSS training, seminars, learning sessions, etc.).
o Share lessons learned in the field, prepare case studies and success stories pertaining to mental health and psychosocial support for every quarter and/or as required
o Training to Health staff and Teachers for mental health integration in medical practices & In schools.
o, Conduct training, learning sessions, and seminars with beneficiaries, project partners, and other stakeholders as identified.
 o Is responsible for arranging training venues within the community o Is responsible for liaising with other implementing partners in the field to avoid duplication
o Has knowledge of community social mobilization to guide and monitor the activities of the social mobilizers in the field
o Compile data at the end of every month for both individual and group sessions and share with the Line Manager and M&E unit

·         Support project manager in conducting capacity need assessments of key government departments and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) across Pakistan.
·         Lead certain initiatives including mapping of Women Right Organizations and work with individual consultants to develop capacity development plans for WROs.
·         Develop strategies for WROs to successfully engage with the key service providers for efficient service delivery to the cases facing GBV.
·         Develop capacities of community groups to understand women rights and work in groups to discuss issues and seek way forward. Has worked closely with the respective PDMAs and CAR to engage all departments in capacity development exercises. 
·         Work with community elders / influentials to ensure protective and supportive environment for women to set up small scale businesses and connect with the external market.
·         Develop Training Need Assessment (TNA) Tools to organize training for government departments and CSOs including GBV Case Management, MISP Framework, GBV in Emergencies etc.
·         Closely collaborate with the Ministry of Human Rights, Gender and Children Cells in respective districts to successfully organize training of key staff members.
·         Develop, translated case management guides for certain WROs in the districts to help the team for effective case management practices.
·         Regularly organize trainings of project teams / in-country team to enable them to understand importance of developing strategies for Women Right Organizations across country.
Provide customized inputs for maximum utilization of Social Mobilizers (Monthly work plan).
Evaluate the performance of various sites, and coordinate to ensure regular capacity building of staff as per need.Assist in the development, Implementation, monitoring and evaluation of  Standard operating procedures (SOPs), protocols, and systems for
Act as a resource person in the training of field staff and provide input on the dynamics of spot and home settings concerning motivational counseling, refills, and adherence.

o Identification of GBV survivors and those at risk- beneficiaries at the Women Girl Safe Space and health facilities
o Supervise WGSS Facilitators and ensure their weekly and monthly work plans are developed and implemented.
 o Update the GBV referral pathway in collaboration with Social Welfare Department, Health department, MHPSS, and other service providers

o Supervise and ensure that data related to GBV/SHR Sessions, vocational training, life skills-based education, success stories, etc is collected, updated, documented, and coordinated through Sr. WPE Officer with Reporting Officer, MEAL Officer, and Database Assistant regularly for weekly, bi-monthly, monthly and quarterly progress reports
