My academic background includes graduating from NED University of Engineering and Technology in Karachi, Pakistan, with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering. Over the course of four years, I received comprehensive instruction in both technical and management aspects of the field, tailored to meet the requirements of the curriculum. This encompassed hands-on experience with various engineering and computational tools, such as Aspen HYSYS, MATLAB, Aspen Plus, MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Origin), and others.
As part of my Final Year Design Project (FYDP), I conducted research on "Comparison of Co-Pyrolytic and Pyrolytic Product Blends Obtained from Waste Cooking & Lubricating Oil." The objective of this project was to convert waste into valuable fuel, with a focus on producing biofuel or diesel-like fuel with optimized properties, characterized by low production cost and high energy output for diverse applications.
In addition to my academic pursuits, I actively participated in numerous extra-curricular activities throughout my four years of schooling. I was elected as the General Secretary of the American Institute for Chemical Engineers (AIChE's NED UET Student Chapter), where I served the society until my graduation in 2021-22. This leadership role provided me with invaluable experience in interpersonal communication and management skills. Moreover, I was also involved in other societies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) during my undergraduate studies, actively contributing to their activities.
My professional experience includes working as a Process Design Engineering Intern at Zishan Engineers Ltd, a process design firm. During my time there, I gained significant insights into the field of chemical engineering design and obtained hands-on experience with various simulation software, including Aspen HYSYS and Aspen Plus.
Subsequently, since August 2022, I have been working as a Production Engineer at Gamalux Oleochemicals Pvt. Ltd. In this role, I have acquired substantial knowledge in production management, planning, and troubleshooting. I have also gained practical experience with the refinery process of converting Crude Palm Oil into Distilled Fatty Acid and the treatment of by-products to obtain Glycerin using vacuum distillation.
