Removal of Arsenic contamination from drinking water by coagultion Process

Arsenic in drinking water is hazardous for public health as many people do not know about the arsenic presence in drinking water therefore for that the research was carried out for its removal. Arsenic removal from water was investigated by using coagulation process. A synthetic sample was prepared with the concentration of 100mg/l from which other two samples were prepared with the concentration of 0.1mg/l and 0.05mg/l with the help dilution process. Arsenic assessment was done on both of the samples before and after treatment. The arsenic assessment was done with the help of Arsenic kit. The concentration of arsenic was actually reduced after treating them by coagulation process in which aluminum sulfate is used which is a coagulant. The coagulant is used for settling down the arsenic particle at the bottom and after adding coagulant the water is filtered and arsenic is measured which should be lesser than the previous arsenic ratio.
