Management (Project, Cost, Procurement & Contracts Management, Monitoring, Evaluation & Controlling):
 Managing the technical team including consultants’ engineers and PIU engineers and specialists to
perform the duties as per the requirements of the Project.
 To review, validate, and amend prepared designs/drawings, technical specification etc., and finalize plans
for the approved subprojects accordingly.
 To supervise the civil works and develop mechanism for monitoring arrangements of implementation of
the subprojects, including preparing a computerized critical path schedule including other project
management tool and a credible management information system for the subprojects.
 Monitoring the execution of the civil works under different subprojects.
 To manage the construction supervision consultants and ensure that the project is implemented in
accordance with the required specifications and approved detailed engineering drawings.
 To ensure quality assurance methodology is put in place, confirm its adequacy and certify that its
implementation is being carried out satisfactorily.
 Advice and assist the executing agency in highlighting and redressal of contract administration and
procurement issues/contractual claims.
 Ascertain extension of time for completion and other claims in accordance with the conditions of contract
in consultation with the Project Director and Deputy Director (Procurement and Contracts).
 Coordinate with all concerned organizations and relevant staff on project related issues.
 Providing support in preparation of bidding documents and evaluation process for hiring of contractors
for approved subprojects in accordance with ADB guidelines and policies.
 Maintaining regular liaison with the executing agency and implanting agencies for timely completion of
project deliverables.
 Organizing the project work systematically, setting forth the procedures to be employed in accomplishing
the deliverables.
 To oversee and supervise construction work of subprojects in accordance with details provided in the
construction drawings, ensuring strict adherence to technical specifications.
 Informing the Project Director about the progress of all project activities, including any technical issues
and the solutions needed to address these issues.
 Preparing an effective project management cycle for timely completion of all civil works with a clear
methodology to be followed and appropriate monitoring mechanism to oversee the construction of all the
civil work component
 To perform any other tasks / assignment that may be assigned by PD, PIU or ADB etc.

• Plan, organizes, and directs designated activities in the planning and engineering department; assigns, reviews, and evaluates the work of staff for accuracy, suitability, and completeness;
• Provides continuing technical assistance to staff; supervises and participates in the work of subordinate planning and engineering staff and or consultants in preparation of project plans, agreement, specifications, cost estimates, and contract administration for projects;
• Taking care of qa/qc documents of the entire project including certificates, calibration, test results, inspection requests, non-compliance reports and site instruction and observations, permanent materials delivered and other related documents. Responsible for the closure of non-conformance reports (NCR) and to carry out internal audit at the site as scheduled in the project quality plan (PQP);
• Effective coordination between execution team & office for achieving maximum output in minimum time, by assigning weekly targets to area engineers & daily progress monitoring. Also to resolve tools, material, manpower issues for execution teams;
• To create and analyze Cash flow analysis (Expected billing (cash inflow) vs Expected cash outflow);
• Selection and arrangement of material at site as per contract specifications, to prepare rate analysis and reconciliation of construction material with client; and
• Resolving of any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.

• To calculate the optimal resource requirement (manpower, material& machinery) as per job along with making efforts to avoid wastage of resources (man-hours, material etc.) in coordination with engineering team and relevant sub-contractors; preparation of budgeted revenue, developing project norms, identification and analysis of cost of poor quality (COPQ) cases.
• Preparing and updating of project schedule based on the contract and to get approval over updated work program from stakeholders;
• Responsible for the quality of material, processes and workmanship of every activity;
• To update plan for budget required for the project and create various budget heads to document and monitor the expenses and to ensure project completion within budget & stipulated time;
• To set work program and target milestones for each area based on the project plan. Prepare monthly plan based on master schedule, set weekly targets based on monthly target & track weekly targets on daily basis;
• Monitoring of critical activities based on the project schedule and advise project management;
• Planning & monitoring of direct material, consumables consumption by keeping in view project budget;
• Monitor day to day work progress and prepare the weekly and monthly progress and financial reports;
• To verify and approve contractor’s invoices along with keeping of all document records;
• Checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations;
• Overseeing delivery and quality of material, health and safety matters on site;
• Develop method statement for the activity including risk assessment and job safety environmental analysis and inspection test plan and checklist based on specifications of the project;
• Timely booking of POs/PRs of all material, equipment’s, consumables etc. by reviewing design and specifications; and
• Resolving technical issues with employer’s representatives, suppliers, subcontractors and statutory authorities.

DESCON Engineering Ltd was awarded Civil, Mechanical and Electrical construction works of 7300TPD Maple Leaf Cement Plant Line III, Iskanderabad in 2017. I am working as “Lead Planning Engineer-Civil” at this project.
Work Activities:

• Resolving technical issues with employer’s representatives, suppliers, subcontractors and statutory authorities;
• Day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labor force and the work of any subcontractors and to prepare monthly plan based on master schedule, set weekly targets based on monthly target & track weekly targets on daily basis;
• Checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations; and
• Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.

During my stay in Behria Town, I pay my services as “Site Engineer” which helps to enhance more engineering capabilities within myself. A site engineer’s role is vital to a construction project, so as a site engineer, I have a number of responsibilities including solving technical issues, providing advice, management and preparing reports.

Work activities:
