 Preventive and Predictive maintenance planning, execution and its supervision in a 14.5 MW Co-generation power plant comprising of 1 X Solar T60 dual-fuel
Gas turbine, 5 x JENBACHER 420 and 1 X CATERPILLAR MWM CG–170 and their respective auxiliaries.
 Monitoring of plant facilities including Fire and Water tube Waste Heat Recovery Boiler, Fuel Gas Compressor and auxiliaries of all Gensets i.e. Motor, Distribution Transformer along with their Instrumentation & control circuitry rectification / modification.
 Condition monitoring of all electrical assets and root cause analysis of equipment failure & quick restoration of Power plant in case of Blackout.
My responsibilities are included but not limited to as follows
 Formulated Operation & Maintenance S.O.P. for two power plants consisting of Caterpillar G3516B & Kohlar 125RZG gas fired generators located at Asia Industrial & Logistic park (Hub river road/ RCD Highway, Karachi-West) AND Caterpillar CG-170 and Caterpillar D-3406-C gas & diesel fired Generators respectively, located at S.I.T.E , Karachi.
 Weekly visits to power plants, auditing the power generation parameters to make sure its maximum efficiency and accumulating any factor effecting fuel consumption, lube oil consumption or engine cooling system, also analyzing Engine Oil report and advising upper management of the company.
 Root Cause Analysis and Supervision of rectification of power distribution system comprising of more than 2 MW load spreading over 1.8 million Sq. Ft.
 Commissioning & technical evaluation of 30KW On-grid solar plant installed at Head office.
 Commissioning of 11KV/0.415KV Substation (ONAN Distribution transformer, 11KV VCB, LT Panel, 350 KVAR PFI Panel and 2500 Amp ACB etc.) to supply power from local utility company to industrial tenants at company premises.
 Energy Conservation and load Management at plant locality by coordinating with tenants.
 Formulated Health and Safety policies & enforced Fire Fighting provisions at Plant location and Head office.
Working as a trainee electrical engineer and deeply involve in studying and getting hands on every major component of power plant.
â—‰ Study of plant design and P&IDs.
â—‰ Study of plant calculations and performance reports.
â—‰ Participation in startup, routine operation and shutdown activities.
â—‰ Participation in breakdown and preventive maintenance activities.
â—‰ Performed 1K, 4K, 12K, 96K and 108K hours engine maintenance.
â—‰ Work on temperature (PT-100 and Thermocouple), pressure, speed (SPEMOS), level & vibration sensors and oil mist detectors along with their transmitters & controllers.
â—‰ Carry out various motor, transformer & lighting maintenance tasks.
â—‰ Perform testing of different protection schemes including ABB relays.
◉ Work on Basler’s Digital Excitation Control System and Woodward’s engine governor system including 721 speed controller, EM-80 actuator and its driver.
The Tapal energy power plant is a H.F.O operated 126 MW plant located in Karachi, Pakistan.
