• Inspection of material receiving at store
• Developing budgets, including preparing construction bids for labor, materials and equipment.
• Provide project status updates and field technical inquiries
• Scheduling materials deliveries and assisting with contract negotiations
• Lays out plans and estimates costs for constructing transmission lines
• Performs detailed engineering calculations to draw up construction specifications, such as cable sag, pole strength, and necessary grounding.
• Estimates labor, material, and construction costs, and draws up specifications for purchase of materials and equipment.
• Keeps informed on new developments in electric power transmission.

• Tests accuracy of flow meters, pressure gauges, temperature indicators, controllers, radiation counters or detectors, and other recording, indicating or controlling instruments to locate defective components in system, using test equipment, such as pressure gauges, mercury manometers, potentiometers, pulse and signal generators, oscilloscopes, transistor curve tracers, and ammeters, voltmeters, and watt meters.
• Removes defective instruments from system, decontaminates, disassembles, cleans instruments, and replaces defective parts, using hand tools.
• Calibrates readings on instruments according to standards, adjusts phasing, and aligns stages to ensure accuracy of recording and indicating function.
• Makes periodic preventative maintenance inspections of all metering control instruments, diagnosing existing or potential trouble; cleans, lubricates, calibrates and adjusts as conditions indicate.
