Chartered Certified Accountant with over 9 years of experience in Internal Audit, Compliance, and Risk Assessment. Currently associated with Printing industry which is the only industry in Pakistan that manufactures banknote products. Prior to this role, I worked in an Audit Firm, the Banking Sector, and the Service industry.
1) Participating in development and implementation of a risk-based Strategic audit plan, including identification of audit universe and risk assessment.2) Assessing and identifying potential risks and control weaknesses within the organization and recommending appropriate controls and mitigation strategies, including providing insight to update the Risk and Control Matrix.3) Leading teams to conduct internal audit engagements as per audit plan, which involve reviewing financial statements, operational processes, and compliance with policies, laws, and regulations.4) Monitoring compliance with internal audit’s action plan, company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, and making recommendations for improvement when necessary.In addition to carrying out my responsibilities as a Deputy Manager Internal Audit, I was given the responsibility to lead the Compliance Section:1) Prepared monthly & quarterly compliance reports according to the SBP guidelines.2) Followed up with various departments in a timely manner to ensure the resolutions of internal audit observations.3) Prepared compliance sheets for the Board Audit Committee and Management.4) Conducting compliance testing and assessments as needed.

• Reporting the on-going compliance with the internal control framework and the SBP Internal Control Guidelines on a bank-wide basis with particular focus on timely updating of documentation (process flows and risk control matrices etc.), design evaluation, remediation planning, implementation and quality assurance etc.
• To ensure complete documentation of Bank’s processes (both at entity level & at activity level) in the form of Process level work flows.
• A risk assessment of the business sub processes / sub cycles for entity level & activity level by developing Risk Control Matrices.
• Validate the process level Work Flows & Risk Control Matrices documentation from the respective department branches.
• Review Testing Plans of all operations of the bank in consultation with IAD for both at entity level & activity level.
• Reviewing whether the IAD performs the tests in accordance with the management testing plans and that the approved annual plans for testing at branches are complied with.
• On the basis of internal control reviews, develop and submit ‘Gap Analysis Report’ and respective recommendations to senior management.
• Prepare Remediation Plan and conduct follow ups for the remediation of Gaps.
• Annual updating of the scoping study, identification of any new significant account balance and/or disclosure and its mapping to business processes in consultation with process and control owners
